Did your CMPA baby have other allergies when introducing purées and solids?

I’m just curious what others experiences were, when introducing solid foods and purées. My baby is almost 5 months and showing all the readiness signs for solids. His pediatrician urged us to start introducing allergens pretty much as soon as we were comfortable with, as he explained that our baby was more likely to have other allergies and it would hopefully help prevent that. He actually wanted us to start right at 4 months but I have been a nervous wreck. We live a good ways off from a hospital if he were to have some awful reaction to something 😭 especially nervous about the usual culprits like peanut, wheat, eggs…. So was wondering, if anyone else’s cmpa baby ended up allergic to other things. Mine can’t do soy or corn either 🥲

No formula is working

Okay my kiddo has severe reflux and suspected cmpa. I am also beginning to wonder if he doesn’t have a corn sensitivity. But here is the break down of everything he has been on -

Similac 360 and sensitive in hospital, he was inconsolable on both. Dr said he likely has cmpa right away
Nutramigen - this was a nightmare. On it for about 3 weeks and he was so uncomfortable and constipated. Mucus and blood in stool consistently
Alimentum rtf - not quite as colicky at first but would not have a bowel movement on this at all without a dose of lactuloss which made him so sick, or without a windi. He started to get worse reflux over time on this
- we tried both soy and goat and both were a mistake
- finally and currently, PurAmino with gelmix and famotodine. He is projectile vomiting no matter how much we thicken, he is finally having BMs but just super acidic smelling and leaving him rashy and raw. Have tried with and without gelmix and both are bad. He is just screaming and crying after every feed no matter the nipple size, if we do smaller feeds more frequently, etc.
And he has been to 4 different pediatricians, along with a GI specialist. He has had a barium enema and other testing and nothing seriously wrong in that regard. It feels like every single one of his doctors have given up and I’m so at a loss. I have even gone as far as ordering sprout but it is taking eons to receive it so I’m not even sure how viable an option it is.
Any advice at all is appreciated at this point. :(

Amino acid formula not working - possibly just reflux?

I am so torn…. My baby has suspected CMPA, along with reflux. Nutramigen caused my baby to have blood in stool, long after switching to it (it was not due to previous formula, as he had been on it a good while) Alemintum RTF caused insane constipation. Goat actually didn’t do bad, besides the fact that it was so thin he spit it up and seemed to aggravate his reflux. Pediatrician finally suggested PurAmino along with Pepcid. We saw improvement right away. Of course, I’m not sure which was the help, the Pepcid or formula. However the longer he has been on it, the worse he’s done. It’s SO thin, we tried Gelmix and that caused constipation, no matter what ratio I did. He chokes and vomits up cereal mixed in. And I have tried slow flow nipples and premie nipples, and both still don’t seem to help the reflux issue with plain, thin amino acid formula. He arches his back, screams, cries, etc. the only reason that they suspected CMPA to begin with was because he couldn’t tolerate what he was on in the hospital, which was similac sensitive. And then began the crazy formula journey, starting with Nutramigen and going from there. I am torn if he was misdiagnosed and just has really bad reflux. Curious if anyone has had a similar experience.

Amino acid/thin formula - favorite bottles?

My baby is on PurAmino and I find the formula to be way too thin/watery and he tends to spit up as it is, but especially with the thin formula. We have tried thickening with both cereal and gel mix and both make him constipated. So, I am wondering if maybe a different bottle would help. Right now we are using Dr Browns with a premie nipple. We sometimes use Philips anti colic, with a size one nipple. Even the premie nipple flows pretty quick with this stuff.

Experience with PurAmino?

My baby was just prescribed PurAmino and antacid meds for CMPA and reflux. Curious what other people experienced with this formula and how long it took to see an improvement or decide against it? Giving it 2 weeks at least for sure of course but was just wondering.

CMPA formula - don’t know what to do

Quick summary: nutramigen and alemintum rtf aren’t working well even after long adjustment. Pediatrician discouraged me from changing him but I don’t really feel like I have an option. Very sensitive belly, reflux, won’t poop but not constipated, etc

Okay so my baby has suspected cmpa. Colic, reflux, rash, diarrhea on cows milk formula in the hospital. They switched him to sensitive which was just as bad. Pediatrician suggested Nutramigen. We were on this for around 3 weeks and he almost seemed worse. He had blood and mucus in his stool, which was almost like clay. Nonstop screaming. Pediatrician said keep going with it even though he admitted he should be adjusted at that point (I’m currently in the process of looking for a new one…)
So, I made the executive decision to switch to Alemintum ready to feed, after researching. He did improve slightly, not quite as colicky and no more blood but he won’t poop on it. His poop is soft and normal when he goes but he has developed dyschezia. GI specialist said this was probably because he had such a bad time on nutramigen that now he’s actually fighting the urge to go. He also had X-rays and a barium enema done, and nothing is physically wrong thank goodness.
However, his alemintum seems to not be doing as good. He is so refluxy and spitting up so much, screaming and colicky again, still no poop without lactulose or windi gaspasser…. Just seems miserable. They told me to even add cereal to his bottles and I tried, which I was apprehensive about, and he ended up spitting up worse. Which was scary, since the formula was thicker. He has been on alemintum for over a month now. Only RTF.
We also tried goat at one point, briefly, as I had heard such good things. That definitely confirmed the milk allergy in my mind though because it was a nightmare.
I’ve talked to both his GI specialist and pediatrician and both told me to put him back on nutramigen. Which he did horribly on! I’m so confused. People keep suggesting soy, but I’ve heard there’s cross reactivity. Willing to try it is anyone else can vouch for it. And of course i know there’s amino acid based but know someone who’s baby was hospitalized on one of those due to a really bad reaction so I’m honestly just scared and at a loss and doctors haven’t helped at all, including specialists. I’ve even considered having sprout organic or HiPP shipped, but really would rather get something domestic for availability reasons. But still willing if it comes to it.
Anyone have any insight or wisdoms? I feel like his whole newborn stage is being robbed from him and us and he’s the sweetest baby when he isn’t miserable. He’ll just smile and babble and you can literally watch his face tense up and change as tummy pain hits. I’m so at a loss!
