Playing volume difference between KD-140 and KD-12?

Bought a Roland TD516 recently and am very happy with it. I'm living in an apartment and the KD-12 Kick sounds like I'm hammering nails constantly. It's by far the loudest part when playing.

I've seen the KD-140 has a bigger mesh head, is it quieter? Anyone of you have any experience?
