software engineering/cs or med route?

i’m trying to decide between going into software engineering or medicine, and i genuinely can’t figure out which path i’d be happier with.

my lowest grd is a 96% rn and my highest is a 100% and im taking all the prerequisites, so i should be able to keep both options open. i’m interested in both fields, which is what’s making this so difficult.

i also care a lot about salary, job security, and long-term career growth. i know medicine usually has a longer path but can have a really high earning potential, while software engineering can also pay really well, especially at the higher end, but i’ve been hearing mixed things about the job market lately.

if you were in my position, which route would you choose and why? also, what universities would you recommend applying to for each path? i’d really appreciate hearing from people who are in either field or have gone through the uni application process.

pls help!!
