Am I the only one who finds this disappointing?

I came across someone saying they are choosing NID Ahmedabad solely for the brand name and do not intend to pursue design as a career.

Personally, I do not believe anyone should choose a college just for its reputation. NID is a design institution, and many passionate aspirants dream of studying there to build a career in design.

Of course, it is their choice, but it does feel unfair to those who genuinely value and aspire to that opportunity.

Choosing a college just because of the 'tag' is the worst thing to exist.

What do you all think?

[ ALSOO, the person who's doing this told me PRIVATE COLLEGES hold no value, their degrees are useless and hold no value. What about others who cracked NID but had to join a private clg just because the cutoff was 2 3 ranks ahead of theirs?? Unbelievable right? ]

Seriously, with love

I talked with some people going to NID, and few of the people are going to NID just for graduation, or js because NID has a name, and really not for designing. GODDAMN PLEASE LET THE WORTHY STUDENTS GET A CHANCE TO STUDY, please leave the seats if you by heart dont want to be a designer. Legit.

Edit - found someone here who's exactly going to NID just for graduation, and will NOT be doing designing. Thats what I'm talking about. 1 seat can make a lot of difference as well. Well unfair.

Email for nid assam

I had emailed nid assam for the closing rank and if my rank will get a seat. This is what they replied to me with, if anyone was in doubt as well. Reading this, i feel deeply heartbroken. NID was the only chance for me to have a career, but now it feels difficult. I'll not leave the hopes. I very much hope i get the seat soon. I very much hope.
