How important is Hx?

Kia ora koutou!!

My partner and I are looking at buying an ev. We are completely new to this and despite a lot of research, we are still thoroughly confused and just have some questions.

We are looking at buying a 2018 nissan leaf, low km, fresh import, 89%SOH. The only thing I've seen is that the Hx is 55% which from research people said not to drop below 50%. Do you guys reckon it's ok?

The price is around $15k drive away.

It drives great, though the newest car we've owned was 2013 so everything feels great!

Other questions we'd love help with:

- Is there anything glaringly obvious to know about buying an EV that isn't obvious from googling?

- We have looked a little at the huyundi iconic but are wondering if there are any other PHEV alternatives that we have somehow missed in our research (i.e. ones that provide a decent battery range of >50km)?

Thank you for any help! Much appreciated :)
