hypermetabolism

so i’ve been in recovery for a week and i think i have hypermetabolism because i have all the symptoms. i have read a few stories/articles about hypermetabolism but all they discuss is whether or not someone has that and the symptoms, no one talks about what it means, etc. i’m curious as to what does it mean for your body, are there some things that you should/shouldn’t do with hypermetabolism (for example, i’m fully weight restored AND my doctors have allowed me to go to my dance practice a few times a week even though i’m in recovery. still i wonder does practice hurt you more with hypermetabolism and should i quit that for a while or is that neutral) you’re welcome to just tell any story about your hypermetabolism to just kind of make this post a thread of shining more light to what hypermetabolism means and how everyone is experiencing and navigating through it!

i’m very confused as to what is okay to ask in these subs and what isn’t because i feel like any question regarding AN or recovery touches the forbidden topics but i’m really just a person going through recovery and trying to find information!! i hope this is allowed. i’m just trying to make more sense of this whole situation and hear stories of others, as there are limited resources available.

breathlessness in ed recovery

i’ve been in recovery for a week. i’m already fully weight restored (i was already gaining weight before i fully started recovery), even at the higher side of normal weight range. for a few days now i’ve started getting these symptoms of breathing heavy all the time and getting breathless for nothing — yesterday night i was breathless from LYING DOWN. i can’t talk for long without having to take pauses. i get out of breath from the slightest activities. i’ve also had dizziness, but it has been going on longer and didn’t just start in recovery. i do think it worsened though. during these breathlessness episodes i also sometimes feel like my heart rate is high and my heart is working hard. has anyone else experienced similar? what did you do, did it get better or what caused them for you? were these just recovery symptoms and they went away or..? i know medical advice is not permitted, so no need to diagnose. i’m just curious if this is a common thing in recovery because i see no one talking about it.

do you really need to eat that much?

i've been struggling with amenorrhea (probably ha) and being in starvation mode. i got nutritional guidelines from a nutritionist and i do want to trust it, but it's just so much food. i've already gained multiple kilos and i feel bad gaining more, but my nutritionist says i won't gain even though i eat all that. my brain just doesn't trust that. because it's even more than i ever ate even before i lost anything and as much as i want to do this this feels like overkill... anyone else who has had similar thoughts? how did it end up? is it really okay to eat that all or will this just make me go back to overweight......
