For the women who've met someone off a dating app, what was your first meetup actually like?
Hi all. I'm 27 and I only started trying dating apps in September, which I know is late. I was with the same person from 21 to 26 and we met through my roommate, so I've genuinely never sat down with a man I didn't already know through somebody.
I don't really understand these apps yet. I've been on Hinge, Bumble and Palaura and every review I read says something different, half the comments say it's fine and the other half say don't bother, so I have no idea what's normal.
There's one guy I've been talking to who seems good, and he's asked to meet. I keep saying this week is busy. It has not been busy. Part of it is that I go quiet in person and I'm scared of sitting across a table from a stranger with nothing to say. The bigger part is that I don't know how to do this safely, and when he suggested his place I said no and then felt rude about it for a whole day, which probably tells you where my head is at.
I can't really ask my friends about this. They're all coupled up and the only thing I get out of them is go and have fun, which is nice but it isn't information.
So I'd rather hear it from women who've actually done it. What your first one was like, and what you know now that you didn't know then.
