Update to Missionary Son Who Went No-Contact

After another call to the MP we were told that he broke mission rules and his phone was confiscated. Another Redditor told me last night that his sister in the same mission said that they took all their phones so that checks out. I am still trying to find an exmo or member in his area who can reach out but at least I know he wasn't in an accident somewhere that they are keeping under wraps. Bonus content: text exchange with my mom - how could I have expected anything different *eyeroll*

My missionary son went zero contact

First off let me explain that he went zero contact with everyone, from other TBM family and myself. We chatted via Facebook messenger multiple times a week, he sent out weekly emails to everyone, posted pictures in his Google album daily.

It's now been over three weeks since anyone has heard from him at all. He hasn't been active on Facebook. No emails, won't answer texts. The mission was contacted out of worry and they responded that he was ok and would contact when he wanted to. I feel like that's bullshit. I think they are forcibly keeping him from having access to his phone and Internet for some reason. I have half a mind to fly to Nebraska myself right now and find out what's really going on.

This is very unlike him. I know that he's gotten enamored with a sister missionary in his area and I worry that he's being punished for an escalation of their relationship. That's the only reason I could think of for this sudden radio silence. He's a grown ass man, he shouldn't be allowed his phone or not. I'm getting more and more angry and scared with each passing day that he's going through something extremely mentally damaging at the hands of the church.
