JROTC SOFTWARE 😇

Hi! Over about 6 months I made this app for my NJROTC unit. It was originally made for NJROTC, and is geared toward it, but it can of course be used by any JROTC branch. I made this app to help armory/admin/supply officers. It can track what cadets have what, it's condition, what's in store, what's being lent out, if it's broken, brand new, etc.

I KNOW there are lots of other apps like this, but TRUST ME, THIS ONE IS BETTER. It has good data safety (so you don't lose records), I made a full very clear manual/user guide to it that explains every feature and function, it supports log ins/accounts so different officers can use the same app on the same device, it's easy to email/share records with instructors and cadets, it supports full printing with customization, a neat layout/colour coding (if you have a coloured printer), it supports accessibility settings to adjust it's appearance, it can count overall counts of items/categories and more.

It is data safe, it supports log ins for multiple cadets, it connects to NO EXTERNAL OR THIRD PARTY servers, it is entirely local, it has data backup functions, AND IT IS NETCINST compliant (which means it follows official DoD standards for software and data handling) it is a local app that is easy to setup and works on Mac, Linux, Windows, Chromebook, even a phone... although I don't recommend it.

A new feature is coming soon to it which is (sorry JUMS guys, maybe I'll add you later) automated integration with CDMIS. And no this is not far out, I have a successful beta image of the app that actually can do this flawlessly.

I made this app mostly just for my unit, however only I and a few other people actually ever used it which is a huge bummer, because this project took a LONG time and is a few thousand lines of code 🥀.

If your unit wants to keep using paper, then go ahead that's what mine did. However, my unit struggled with people stealing from supply/armory, records going missing, lazy administration etc. This software WILL PREVENT THAT EFFECTIVELY.

ALSO, THIS SOFTWARE IS KIND OF MY BIG BADGE OF PICK ME FOR A INTERNSHIP SO I'D be extremely appreciative if somebody helped support it especially since my unit lacked in doing so...

⬆️This is the link you can get it from. It is hosted on GitHub which some schools block so I'd advise just downloading it as a ZIP and then emailing it to your school computer or putting it on a thumb drive. To use it, the instructions are listed out there, but you just download the repository as a .ZIP file, extract it, and press OPEN ME.html, and book mark it in your computer or something.

Tiny FAQ: No, you're school won't block it, yes it runs on everything, and YES, READ THE MANUAL.

AND if you'd like to contact me for any reason or question, my discord username is dvt25, and my email is xsoldat55@gmail.com

Edit: Some schools block GitHub, if you only have a school computer try this download link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nqmrudywYCIM6hknYbx_6GlDcVKHW3kv/view?usp=sharing

I love milsim games, and I like horror games. Just not jump scare supernatural games very much. I LOVE dread/psychological horror games though. My game takes inspiration from Fractured Mind, Cod 4, and SUPERHOT. I'd make the game have 2010-2011 style shooter graphics mostly on the greyscale with a few exceptions. This would help running in potato mode, easier development, and the horror atmosphere.

The whole point of the game is; not have beautiful graphics, but have very detailed and complex mechanics and enemies. Basically, to be a pain in the ass of the player to show the story.

My mechanics I've been playing with in UE4 are retina burning from bright lights, tinnitus, manual bullet by bullet loading of magazines, physicality meaning weapon sway, wacking, etc., tripping, weight based drowning, smoke inhalation, and a bunch more. The game probably won't feature any automatic weapons, max jump of about 1-2 feet. Can only climb on dry surfaces with grip etc.

All the mechanics are to give the player the feeling of war, where nothing is alright; or okay. Most milsim like games like SDIF/RoN or Arma kind of fail to portray this. They are still "games" and Kontur is supposed to make you realize the reality of nothing is ever alright youre always under lots of stress.

The game would be you playing as a German man in tactical gear who wakes up inside a house in Berlin. The game is zone/hub-based open world. The story goes between zones, to travel between zones the player uses the U-Bahn. Different zones can be different time zones including 1400s, 1800s, WW1, WW2, split cold war Germany, and modern day. Most things are liminal and empty and a distinct lack of life. Enemies in the game are either solid black or solid white featureless figures.

The other main part of the game is the AI enemies. (Not literal AI ofc). But their action trees. I would try to mimic reality with enemies as best as possible including that enemies can hide from you and stay hidden out of fear factor, hide and wait to attack you, coordinate, stack up, and attack, if you wait to long to do anything mid combat they can rush you, flank you, etc. Although featureless enemies, I'd make realistic violence in the game including dark/red artery based injuries, bullet holes, bleeding out, etc. depending on where and what was used. Enemies can get hurt or not and play dead waiting to attack you. Enemies can give up and just sit down. Enemies can "get rid of themselves" in certain situations. Enemies can scream, laugh, cry, beg for mercy, but all in a non understandable voice. They can pick up own body parts. I have some other themes I'd like to put in the game but don't want to say it here. The game does follow a story but never fully explains why/where/what you're doing there and never offers a real escape from the environment. This is because in real life, there is no escape from war. The whole main theme of the game is the horror of war but trying to be portrayed in the nastiest, most stressful, guilt tripping way.

You're character must sleep, and I am implementing a 1:10 chance that when you wake up, you have to wake up twice bc the first is a dream where weird things can happen (Can't spoil that here lol). Also enemies have a 1:15 chance in having parts of them flashing and glitching as real life detailed people.
