Medal help
So im at the end of my sophmore year of njrotc and ive accumulated 9 medals so far (Snsi hasnt given me the last one yet). Putting the ribbons on is the worst thing i have ever experience and it looks terrible when i do it so i was wondering if there were alternate ways you guys did it such as using a ribbon bar or smth.
joining njrotc
hello! i am a rising freshman. my high school offers njrotc and i am interested in joining. i would like to ask some questions.
- what can i expect to learn and do?
- what is daily life like? (i understand that it varies school to school)
- what are the benefits of joining?
any other advice would be appreciated too
deciding what to do in high school can be quite confusing, so thank you for any help!
want to do jrotc but the high school im going to doesnt offer it
I'm interested in jrotc, but the school im going to soon doesnt offer it. there is another high school that offers afjrotc but it's further from my home and none of my friends are going there and i'm more interested in mcjrotc or ajrotc anyway. there are ajrotc locations in my area but ther're all at schools that are in a different district than i am and i'm not going to a completely different district just for jrotc. i'm in eastern nebraska for reference. should i keep trying to find something or cut my losses and stop hoping to find something i wont find?
End of NS1 Year
I wish I had joined this program sooner. I've met so many cool people, and developed myself so much. I ended up joining my Junior year, now going into my senior, so I thought I was really gonna lag behind
I started the program a bit weak physically due to asthma, but entered and graduated from our Cadet Basic program and started as an E2. Pretty big head start against all the other NS1s.
December came around, I got double promoted to PO3, and at that time, I had already secured a spot in both armed teams, and picked up color guard seriously. Joined the Sword team for the Military Ball too; that was sweaty but fun. From there on, I took to progress as much as I could before next year. April came through, and I became the color guard commander for AREA 10's annual NS1 Drill Meet (Made 2nd Place).
I was recently promoted to c/ENS, and the Change of Command ceremony rolled around. I'm going into my senior year as the unit's PAO and Color Guard CMDR (IK I'm missing my anchor, still looking for one).
Got a few awards to show off, (missing my American Legion Scholastic Award, and my $1000 fundraising medal due to back-order complications.)
Next up for me is to do my best on the qualifier PFT so I can go to LA this June...
What do yall think about my uniform?
For context:I'm a jr LET 3 in my 2nd year in the program, I skipped LET 2 because I joined sophomore year. The left shoulder cord(purple and yellow) is my staff cord, and everyone knows drill team. My medals include:superior cadet, AMVETS(American veterans) and a Daytona nationals medal that my drill team earned for going to the all army nationals last year. And I'm a C/SGM
AFJROTC Saber Team Help
Hello! I’ve started a saber team in my unit (I’m the commander for the remainder of this school year and all of next year) and we already have the basic commands down. However, I’d like to start teaching the Saber Arch and the cadet guide (for Saber Team) does give commands but it’s pretty hard to visualize it (if that makes sense). I’m also trying to find videos but they… vary. If someone here has seen a really and I mean REALLY clear and good video explaining the saber arch, please share the link!
LET 2 C/Major Batt S-3 Senior
Graduating next month, attending Norwich University Corps of Cadets, had a really fun time, squared away my school best I could before leaving leave feedback.
The last week…. I’m not ready to say goodbye
Four years went by so fast. JROTC taught me so much about life. It was fun, it was interesting, and it was hard. It was so hard that during my second year I wanted to quit, and I really thought about not continuing into my junior year, but I decided to stay.
I’m so glad I did because I have made so many great memories and friendships in this program. The instructors have truly been the best, and they all have a very special place in my heart. This program will always have a special place in my heart too.
Next week I only have two classes left, and then it’s goodbye. I’m sure there will be tears on the last day, and that’s okay. I wish I could stay in this program forever, but I know nothing lasts forever. Even though this chapter is ending, the memories, lessons, and people from it will always stay with me.
Thank you, JROTC, for everything, and thank you to all of the amazing cadets who came into my life and made it better. 🤍
Graduation stole
Got my stole ready for my graduation in 6 days
End of AS-II, pretty proud!
I think I did pretty good in a couple years, definitely joining senior year! What do yall think? (Also please do tell me if anythings out of regs, I got one missing ribbon that's in the mail rn (repost due to bad quality))
Army jrotc
So I just got these but they aren't on the ribbon organizer I use, do they have a specific spot
(Ik some rules are only ribbons or the medal)
Awards night haul 3 years and running
Fuh this corp man 🖕🖕🖕
70% of the medals being for dedication and patriotism despite me dedicating a lot to this corp, I literally had the most community service hours in the second semester and I've done multiple color guards and was CIC for multiple community services which all were praised by the organization in charge I've displayed nothing but pride and dedication to this nation and have constantly expressed my will to join the armed services after college. And not a single medal was awarded to me. This was my last straw, some of yall may have seen my older post. It's either im quitting or staying for the A and doing the bare minimum some other chump can dedicate themselves to this corp.
