I deleted social media for 2 months and haven't bought anything besides necessity

When i deleted social media I did it to stay away from the constant news and unnecessary information. Besides reddit which I consider more of a messaging and discussion board (up for debate of course). Anyways before this i noticed every week or 2 weeks I'd buy some kitchen utensils, fashion item, makeup, scarf, new accessory majnly influenced by the trends I was constantly seeing online. On average I was spending 20 dollars a week from what I was seeing online. Since my detox, I dont feel the n3ed to buy more clothes or things. I just noticed I dont even have the urge. I'm completely fine with everything I have. I dont need new lip gloss, no new car seats, no new tea flavour or shoes.

Quantum stranger that helped me along second street

Hie Zim redditors. Today a stranger helped me when my car ran out of fuel. He went and bought some for me. Unfortunately i didnt have change and we agreed to meet at the service station he got fuel. I must have got confused as to which quantum and I ended up following the wrong car by the time I realized it it was too late. I left my phone number at the service station when I realised it but said Samaritan was gone. Please if you know anyone with a similar story, I am looking for them and would like to pay them back for helping me out. I am very sorry I passed the service station. I want to pay back the money.

Would you give a family member your car to run indrive?

My parents have been asking to use my car for indrive for extra income and tbh I really dont want to but I also feel obliged and seems like the good thing to do. For context it is my first car, purchased in May, been using to get to work with my brother as well as dropping off my dad at work. My parents have sold off all their assets to pay fees ( lots of mismanagement and debt, story for another day). Anyways currently my dad works 3-5 days a week so the ask is to use it on his days off to get money. What could go wrong? What is your we experience? Sometimes I feel like i am a prisoner of my own doing- I've been discouraged to move out many times, have given up so much money to them, haa if you know black tax you know what I'm talking about. I've thought about potential benefits, perhaps we share the profits? But everytime they bring it up i just freeze and dont even know what to say, I just want to say no but the expectations are just too much. Btw 27F. Imbondionesaiwo maZimbo. Both parents work but its mainly just paying off their debts and accumulating more. I also feel like I'm currently footing majority of the house bills to the point where its the same as renting if not more.

Do employers have an obligation to provide heating to employees?

I know there is no legal obligation in terms of the law to provide heaters but perhaps and surely there should be some form of moral obligation for employers to provide heating to employees. I am writing this while wearing 3 layers of clothes, a hot water bottle on my lap, a cup of coffee and a fleece. We do not get much sunlight because there's trees around us. And I have noticed we always get terrible flues around this season. Just curious what others think? My employer has taken away electric heaters and will not fill up gas tanks haha, so I am just wondering is this normal where you work? If you are an employer I would also like to hear your reasoning. Said employer has a heater in their office

I go to church every Sunday but don't believe in Jesus.

Growing up as an African our culture and tradition has been vilified by Christianity as devil worship and satanic. That is what I grew up thinking and hearing and even believing. I also asked my elders well if God is so good why did he bring Salvation through colonisers who killed and abused Africans. What kind of God is this that only revealed himself to wyt people. What happened to people that never heard of Jesus. So many questions... why does he have to kill his son for people's sins. That just sounds absurd to me. And drinking his blood and eating his body during communion wtf even is this! Don't get me started on the money, what does God need money for? What kind of gratification is this? Anyways while I know very little about my African Tradition, I believe there is a God, acccessible to evryone despite their religion but Christianity isnt the ultimate way. Also i teach Sunday School and teach little kids to believe in Jesus-it's probably good for something, I think I do it to please my family.

Why would you build a house worth 1000s of dollars on land you don't own?

I have been following the recent Stoneridge demolishing and I see people are enraged and have sympathy for those affected. Unfortunately I am failing to have sympathy because if you don't have a title deed to a property why on earth are you building your house on that land? I saw some very decent houses and it made me wonder are people that naive? Also these demolitions don't happen by surprise there is a whole process that goes on and you are told well before to object or evacuate. Even if there was a promise really how can a person be going around hardwares getting quotations for building materials, engaging planners when you have no ownership? Hameno, asi ndiwo mafungiro angu, asi vanhu vanofunga kuti kurenta kupenga here?
