I started painting Nabiki, but she changed quite a bit along the way.

Although I started this as a portrait of Nabiki, I found myself focusing more on expression, color, and the paint itself... so I stopped worrying that much on keeping her on-model.

In the end, the portrait evolved into a more grounded, painterly interpretation of her

What do you think? Do you prefer a more faithful version of a character, or more personal interpretation?

I finally got proper scans of my Akane paintings

I originally shared the first painting a while ago, but I finally got proper scans, so I wanted to share it again with colors much closer to the original.

As a little bonus, I also included an Akane cooking painting. 😄

Mamimi Portraits!!

Hi coolies! 😄 I made these paintings of Mamimi as part of a small study of her character for a series I’m working on.

The portraits are oil paintings, and the third is acrylic 🎮.

I also shared a version with music on my Instagram @card.eme
