Pelvic pain 1 year post bisalp?

Edit: I forgot to mention that I was not on birth control before surgery, and never have been. I'm asexual, actually - I just wanted any chance of pregnancy gone.

Hey all -

I had a bilateral salpingectomy almost a year ago - my surgery was in early August of 2025. A bit of endometriosis was found as well, and that was "zapped", apparently. I wasn't told that that may be done. I also wasn't told that they would have to go in vaginally for the procedure. With severe vulvodynia, I was confused when I experienced a major flare of that after surgery - I found out through reddit why that was.

I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced pelvic pain that wasn't there before surgery?

I get pretty intense ovary pain on both sides now. It's mostly during the "normal" ovulation time and for a few days right after my period ends, but it also happens here and there throughout the month. Bearing down in any way or doing things that use the surrounding muscles is super hard when the pain is there.

I also have experienced almost constant pelvic discomfort and cramping since surgery. I don't realize I'm doing this when it's happening, but I wake up groaning and whimpering in my sleep, and the pain enters into my dreams in weird ways, lol. It's every night, and even sitting here tonight I've realized I've been making weird grunty pain noises.

I do also have digestive issues and obviously pelvic pain could be partially due to that, but I've only had this constant discomfort and hurt since my surgery.

I don't at all wanna neg on bisalps, because heck yeah for sterilization! But I'm just wondering if there are folks out there experiencing similar.

I looked down there for the first time in years, lol - anyone have a tiny P33N on their urethra?

EDIT: just want to clarify that this is NOT my clitoris, lol! 😳😂 My clit is an inch or so higher than this, and it usually doesn't hurt. I actually know a decent amount about vulvar anatomy cuz I've had chronic pain down there for 25 years or so, and this is right below mah peeee hole, and extends a bit up over it. It doesn't look much like anything I can find on the internetz. Also, I finally have a gyn who specializes in vulvar disorders, but I've only seen her once. I am calling tomorrow morning, STAT!

Hey y'all!

I don't want this to be misconstrued as a medical question - I'm just curious if variations in the urethral opening area can be normal/if there are any resources on that? (I also just got home from express care, and have a message in to my OBGYN and will be in touch with her tomorrow, so I've got my bases covered.) ❤️

So I'm having a major vulvodynia/vestibulitis flare at the moment (something I've dealt with for over 20 years). It's been far more painful than it normally is during a flare, and last night I got a mirror and took a goooood look down there, haha.

Everything in the vestibular area is somewhat inflamed and red, but... I was jarred to see that my urethra has like, a tiny mini peenusss? I know it's not a peen, of course, but it is a sort of fleshy protrusion that starts more bulbous a bit below my urethra, and comes to a point that sticks up over the opening. I'd say it's about the size of a jelly bean? But the point is about the size and shape of a pen tip. It is INCREDIBLY painful to touch, but everything in that area hurts right now so it's hard to tell if it's worse than the rest of the area or not.

The woman who saw me at express care was quite dismissive, lol. They're sending my urine off to a lab, but she didn't even want to take a look. She was trying to discharge me after just chatting and getting a pee sample, and I was like "errrr... I kind of want someone to look..." So she did, for about two seconds haha, and just told me to call my gyno.

Anyhow, I know vulvas are so varied in shape and size and details, but every chart or image I've seen of a healthy vestibular area shows the part around the urethra as flat and smooth. There have to be differences there, right?

Thanks y'all!

Anyone have a pointy urethra??

This sounds wild, but I have been having an awful flare since Friday. My pain has been worse than it usually is during flares. Last night I decided to take a look with a mirror for the first time in years. The whole vestibular area looks a bit inflamed and red, but... I was surprised to see that I have a raised, sort of bulbous (kinda the size of a jelly bean?), SUPER painful bit that starts just below my urethra and comes to a point over the opening.

From my research, it seems like that is not a normal part of the female anatomy, ha. I have a message into my gyno and am gonna talk to her tomorrow. Dr. Google is scaring me, but I'm wondering if anyone else has something like this? I'm wondering if 25 years of dealing with vulvodynia/vestibulitis and not getting the help I needed/trying to grin and bear the pain through, uhh, normal human activities maybe could have caused changes or scarring down there?

I'm curious to hear anyone's experience with similar.

Pain and itching a week or two after trigger point injections?

Hey folks!

I've dealt with vulvodynia since my teens, and I'm about 40 now. I tried to get help for it back in the early 2010s, but there wasn't much out there. It seems there has been a lot of progress!

I have a new doctor who specializes in vulvodynia, which is just mind-blowing to me. I'd kind of given up on finding help for it years ago. Anyway, I decided to get trigger point injections, and had them done on may 27th, in the vestibular area (the most painful area for me) to start.

As she was doing the injections, there was a bit of pain, of course, but almost immediate relief!! She also put me on weekly fluconazole for a while.

Everything has been good and the pain has been mostly lessened since, but this evening I suddenly started having pain, tingling, burning, and intense itching. Feels like a bad yeast infection, but I don't think it can be.

Does this make any kind of sense to anyone, or have any of you experienced similar after injections?

Of course it's Friday, so I can't get in touch with my doc til Monday, unfortunately. If it continues to feel like an infection I suppose I could have a swab done at urgent care, but I'd prefer not to.

Thanks in advance, y'all!!
