Little update: before and after

Thanks to the folks (u/vintagecoachie and u/souryellowapple) who helped me suss out some details for the newest Coach bag I scored! I did a little clean up on it yesterday and am really happy with the results so far. Since the bag is pushing 40, I'm not too worried about getting the stains out. I'd prefer them to soften into the overall patina of the bag (and that patina certainly came out when I moisturized it yesterday)!

I'm sure I'll clean and condition again someday soon, but this was enough to get me out the door :)

First two are before, second two are after, and the last one is out and about!

Curious and color and model!

Hi Coach crew :)

I just got my first lighter colored Coach bag and am excited to fix her up. I posted to the rehab page for tips there but was curious to get your insight on a few things:

  1. Any idea what color this would be called?

  2. Any idea the name of this bag/style? The creed seems to predate 1994 formatting.

  3. I'm pretty sure it's authentic (I can see the little bullseye/"O" mark above the creed and the stitching looks good) but if you think it's fake, let me know!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions!

First time with a light colored bag!

Hi Coach gang :)

I got my first lighter colored bag and am excited to clean her up! I've checked out the wiki and am thinking saddle soap and conditioning to start. Not going to touch the ink (no bloom for me, thanks!), but curious to hear your thoughts:

  1. Any ideas for specific ways to tackle the stains, particularly on the back side of the bag? They're raised, which makes me think maybe I can get them to come off... Wondering if there are any specific tips for lighter color bags, besides doing swatch tests somewhere less visible (like the back on the inside pocket).

  2. I'm curious if anyone here knows the name for this color!

Thanks for your thoughts and tips!

Coach Lafayette - I think?

Hey gang, I scored this one on eBay -- curious what y'all think and whether it's legit. It's interesting because the handles and top/rim of the bag feel really sturdy, but the bag body feels thin. Plus one of the corners/sides feels way more worn than the other. Let me know what you think!

Help IDing a vintage Coach bag

Hi! First-time caller, long-time listener :) I picked up this bag at an antiques warehouse awhile back. The inner pocket included a movie stub from 1998, so it's definitely an older Coach model! I'm having trouble identifying it since it seems like it may have predated the more standardized creed numbering system. I've checked other vintage Coach databases with no luck.

Any chance any of you have seen this bag before or know which style it is? I thought it might be a city bag but wasn't sure because of the creed.

(Would also love if anyone else could confirm that they've seen that whiter leather towards the seams on older bags -- I'm always second-guessing myself about that and whether it's something nefarious!)

Thanks for sharing your wisdom!
