Hi Everyone, am hoping to get some expert insight into the exact catalog name and history of this beautiful vintage XL bucket bag I own. Here are the key details from the bag:

The Creed Stamp: "MADE IN NEW YORK CITY, U.S.A." with the classic 1980s "variations in the grain" text block.

The Serial Number: No. 276-2741 (stamped in the classic pre-1994 all-numeric typewriter font).

The Hardware: Features a heavy-duty brass zipper stamped with "Talon" on the slider, and the original matching leather hangtag is still attached.

The Interior: Completely unlined, raw suede with an attached zipper pouch pocket.

I’ve attached clear photos of the full bag, the internal creed patch, the Talon zipper logo, and the hangtag. I would be so grateful if you, the “Coach Queen” could help me confirm its official catalog name, colorway, and exact production era! Thank you in advance for your time and help!

Looking for a similar purse with silver hardware for winter

Looove this girl! Bought her a few months ago as my first big girl purse, but for winter I want something with silver hardware instead of gold. Does anyone have any recommendations? Something preferably brown, but I am open to reds and greens! Thanks xx

Would appreciate help identifying/dating this vintage brown Coach bucket bag with a Talon zipper (Serial: 276-2741)

Hi everyone! I am trying to track down the exact model name and history of this beautiful vintage brown Coach bag. At first, I thought it might be a Helen’s Legacy bucket bag, but after looking closer at the serial number and hardware, I think it might be an older 1980s piece.

Here are the specific details of the bag:

  • The Serial Number: Stamped on the internal creed as 276-2741.
  • The Zipper: It is a heavy-duty brass zipper clearly stamped with the word "Talon" on the slider.
  • The Color: A classic brown leather.
  • The Hangtag: It still has its original matching double-sided stitched leather logo hangtag attached by the authentic brass ball chain.
  • The Interior: Completely unlined, raw suede interior with an attached zipper pouch pocket.

I would love to hear from the experts here to confirm if this is an XL Duffle Sac, a classic Archive Bucket bag, or something else entirely from the 1980s catalog. Any insight into the exact leather color name or production era would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your help.

Authentication request for my collection

For the last 10 years or so I’ve been collecting unlined vintage coach bags as I love them and was gifted two of them. I never thought to check if my collection was authentic or not.

This has been my love and hunt for the last few years and I seriously enjoy getting them and wearing them (just got the gray 9076 today)

Most I paid under $30 for. The red was $50 and the backpack was a gift.

Curious to see which are real (hopefully all lol) before I go into a much needed cleaning and condition of them all.

Authentication Request

This is q vintage coach dinky. She has an orange red color. Did the Spectator line make a red dinky? Is she authentic?

Difference in the leather and hardware quality between countries manufacturers?

Hi there! Every now and then I find someone online that claims that prefer the bags that were made in USA. Are the quality between bags really that different? Is there a comparison sheet someone made between pros and cons for bags from each country? I would love to know.

I have right now the option to get a black made in turkey or a made in USA city bag. Which one would last longer/in better shape in the long run?

What’s your favorite (or go to) bag?

Happy Saturday!

Hoping to spark some discussion and learn about new bags.

What is your favorite or go to bag? And why?

What is your dream bag?

Who is buying these

It’s cute don’t get me wrong but is it $560 cute? Are these being bought solely because they’re really popular right now?

Definitely not trying to put anyone down though, if you’ve got it like that, congrats you’re doing well in life 😭

Little update: before and after

Thanks to the folks (u/vintagecoachie and u/souryellowapple) who helped me suss out some details for the newest Coach bag I scored! I did a little clean up on it yesterday and am really happy with the results so far. Since the bag is pushing 40, I'm not too worried about getting the stains out. I'd prefer them to soften into the overall patina of the bag (and that patina certainly came out when I moisturized it yesterday)!

I'm sure I'll clean and condition again someday soon, but this was enough to get me out the door :)

First two are before, second two are after, and the last one is out and about!

XL Duffle (9151) Organization?

I’m having trouble figuring out how to keep my things organized in this bag. It’s 15 inches wide, 14 inches high, and 7 inches deep. I love the slouch but want to keep things organized. Pouches? Bag insert?

Thrifted! Are these authentic?

I thrifted these bags recently.

I think the first one is 1993 (?) black city bag? and second one is 1996 Lula mahogany drawstring bag?

I'm looking into dressing them in charms and looking for inspo. If you have these bags dressed in charms, please show and tell.

Please let me know if they are not real. Thank you
