Seroma Concern
I’m officially 6 days post-op, and things are actually looking pretty good! I am happy with the surgery. However, two days ago when I was changing my dressings after a shower, I heard a squelching noise and I swear it almost made me faint…
Anyway, a couple days later I have pretty much confirmed that it is a seroma, as the fluid noises are pretty clear. It is not very swollen, and there is only some mild aching. It is located at the top of my chest, under my collarbone and near my armpit.
I spoke with my surgeon over the phone, and he confirmed that I will be okay to hold off on a visit until my two week post-op appointment. In the meantime, does anyone have any tips for how to get this to drain faster, or is it just something I have to wait out. Unfortunately, it’s kind of under the strap of the vest, where the compression isn’t the tightest. Also, if anyone has any tips to not be so icked out by the gross sounds, that would be awesome 😅
