I know this is ironic asking for English names somewhere titled Jewish names, but when I tried asking some place else I was basically told antisemitism doesn't exist and we should just give her one of these names, so yeah 💀

It would be for my younger sister’s legal first name. Siblings are Felix (Yitzchak), Evie (Chava), Fabian (Boaz), Hope (Yahel), and Zelda (Avigail).

Like the examples, ideally the meanings relate in some way. For Shira, we have thought of Allegra, we don’t live in the US so the allergy medicine name doesn’t matter, Melody, and Aria. And for Aviva, I thought maybe something floral, like Florence, Iris, or Lily. But we don't have a lot of ideas yet. We're also German, but live in Australia.

Hello! I am looking for names that could serve as the English equivalent of the names Aviva and Shira. This would be for my younger sister’s legal first name.

They don’t have to have the same meanings as each other, but they should be related. I will give some examples, the names of myself and my siblings, so you can understand how it works. And also so they can sound good all together!

Felix (Yitzchak)

Felix means happy and prosperous and in Hebrew, Yitzchak means laughter because of the joy that his parents had when he was born.

Evie (Chava)

Basically the same name, Evie comes from Eve, which is the English spelling of the name Chava, which means life.

Fabian (Boaz)

Fabian means someone who grows beans and Boaz was quite a wealthy farmer who owned a lot of land for agriculture. Although I don’t think he grew beans.

Hope (Yahel)

Hope obviously means hope, and Yahel in Hebrew means to shine, so this was more abstract, like the idea of a source of hope.

Zelda (Avigail)

Zelda is a Yiddish name that means blessed and happy, and Avigail in Hebrew means my father’s joy. So they are names that both mean joyful, like Felix and Yitzhak.

Shira means song or singing and Aviva means spring. For Shira, we have thought of Allegra, we don’t live in the US so the allergy medicine name doesn’t matter, Melody, and Aria. And for Aviva, I thought maybe something floral, like Florence, Iris, or Lily. But I would love to hear any and all ideas, they don’t have to be like our ones!
