Ink drawing, Kyoto, Japan - gave to shop owner!

Sketched this today over lunch and ended up going back for tofu pudding later this night (delicious!). The shop owner was so friendly and chatted with us for a while, I went out on a limb and showed him the drawing and ended up just giving it to him as a memento. First time giving my art to a stranger and it was really fulfilling. Felt like all the right aspects of urban sketching - thanks to this sub for the continued inspiration!

I think the bottom half of this building looks better than the top half, need to work on straightening my horizontal lines a bit.

Empire State Trail - Advice North of Albany

Hey all - biking the EST up to Canada in about a month. I have done the Buffalo/Albany trip, and the NYC/Albany trip, but this will be my first time riding the Champlain Valley portion.

It's clear from the online resources that it's pretty on-road north of Waterville. Any recommendations on whether the EST route itself is the best on-road option? Are there quieter rural roads that run generally parallel or due north that are more comfortable to ride on?

Note: Lodging is already booked, so I don't want to stray too far from the trail (i.e. not looking for recommendations to go on the east side of Lake Champlain).

Hey all - I used to be an avid CBB listener, like every single episode for years. For some reason, I just stopped listening as frequently around 2020/2021. I miss it and want to get back in but am not recognizing as many of the names as I used to. Who are some of your favorite guests these days?
