I absolutely love this sub but..

.. the amount of times I’ve seen people ask the same stuff over and over and over again is beyond.

Is 26 good yet?

Is 26 worth buying yet?

Is it worth playing?

What state is 26 in now?

Have people not thought to just go on Twitch and boot up a live stream and judge for themselves or go on YouTube and watch a video?

Or maybe they don’t know Reddit has a search bar?

Isn’t there a 26 demo out there somewhere to play for free?

I’m an active 26 hater BUT I swear people post those questions just to knock the game because they already know the majority of answers are going to be negative.

First time player, booking annual leave to play..

What is this game doing to me just after only 10 hours!!

Booking time off work to play a video games?!

I’ve just had my annual leave approved for all of next week.

10 hour sessions daily.

The GIF is going to be me by the end of week.

First time player, cannot stop thinking about the game..

Hey all,

Started my first ever play through last night, only 3 hours in. My post about it last night seemed to of got a lot of attention and I’m so glad people on this Reddit are helpful/kind and genuinely excited for new players to experience this game for the first time.

I’ve been in work all day thinking about what adventures I’m going on tonight and what’s going to happen with this little worm in my head, I’m currently on the path to find a healer..

I might even book next week off work to have proper old school 10 hour a day sessions on it. Thoughts?

EDIT: IVE BOOKED OFF NEXT WEEEK.

First time player, 3 hours in..

Found Shadowheart on the beach. Nice to look at and nice to listen to. What a girl.

Nearly got my throat cut by a devious fellow called Astarion, he seems cool but need to be wary I think.

Freed Lae’zel from those horned things, she’s straight to the point, I like her.

Explored some ruins, killed some bandits then punched a book open and Shadowheart approved.

Spoke to this undead guy, speaks in riddles but seems okay.

This game seems like it’s going to be absolutely incredible.

The combat and the dialog so far is 10/10.

EDIT: Some comments doubting and saying I’m not a first time player. I absolutely am. I am playing with a handful of customisation mods on console (which I looked up before starting) new faces and hair for your main character and allowing me to change the colour of my clothes.

First time player and I’ve just started my play-through..

I’ve asked a few spoiler free questions on here in the past few days because I was very interested and excited to start my first ever BG3 play-through (finally) and I got some really helpful and good advice.

My last time playing a BG was Dark Alliance 1&2 on PS2.

Say hello to Lorian the Paladin.

Absolutely overwhelmed already and so I should be.

I know 2 things for certain, this game is going to be magical and I’m going to be spending countless hours in photo mode.

u/lixmdvs88 — 5 days ago

FIRST EVER PLAY-THROUGH STARTS NOW..

Chose to be a Paladin as I just done a little research and it was ‘apparently’ the easiest to use for a first time player..

Any help, advice, tips or tricks would be massively helpful please.

First time ever having a player ranked #1 in NXGN..

Currently coming towards the end of season 8 in my first ever Journeyman save and this is the time ever having the number 1 ranked wonderkid in world football.

When I joined the club at the start of the season he only played 6 times in total for the first team.

I’ve been playing him as a Mezzala on attack and he’s got 26 G/A in 36 appearances this season.

I feel like he is the type of player I would want to follow me from club to club throughout this save but with that price tag it’s going to be near impossible to get him when I eventually leave Feyenoord.

Warra player already.

u/lixmdvs88 — 6 days ago

My favourite player on my Journeyman save so far, no explanations why..

I bet his great great great great great great uncle Dutch would be proud.

u/lixmdvs88 — 6 days ago

The best Christmas present a manager could ask for..

Could not of received a better email at 8:54am on Christmas Day.

My first season with Feyenoord on my Journeyman save, holy shit what a youth intake.

Absolute game changer.. [FM24]

I’m enjoying my first ever Journeyman save that much I decided to try and make some customer kits, always liked the idea but thought it was be too difficult so I never bother to attempt it.

I’m so glad I gave fmkitcreator a go, I made the home, away and third kits in less than an hour and put them all into FM24 along with the 3D versions.

I’m going to be making new kits for whatever club I’m managing at the start of every season to get even more immersed in my save than I already am.

Never enjoyed a save this much before, the New-GAN faces for regens plus now customer kits are an absolute game changer.

I would highly recommend both to anyone playing a long-term save.

Any questions or if any needs any help let me.

Heck, if you want some kits I’ll happily make them for you.

My Journeyman save goals.. [FM24]

Goals:

- Max reputation naturally through coaching badges and experience. 📈

- Manage and win the top league in, England, Italy, France, Spain and Germany. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇮🇹🇫🇷🇪🇸🇩🇪

(Not using Man City, Inter, PSG, Madrid or Bayern)

- Win the UEFA Champions League. 🇪🇺🏆

- Manage in South America and win the CONMEBOL Libertadores. 🇧🇷🇦🇷🏆

- Manage internationally and win the World Cup. 🏆

- Have a stadium named after me. 🏟️

Posting this so I can look back on how long each goal takes me from when I post this.

I’m currently in my 8th season, no goals ticked off and not in a top 5 league yet.

What’s the longest save game you’ve ever done and what were the goals?

Finally at a ‘big’ club in my first ever Journeyman save.. Season 8

From having no coaching badges and half a star reputation and getting sacked after 7 months into my first ever job, I’ve finally got that feeling of ‘I’ve made it’

Season 1 - Colwyn Bay 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
Season 2, 3 & 4 - Barry Town 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
Season 5, 6 & 7 - Union Saint-Gilloise 🇧🇪

After domination in both Wales and Belgium it was time to move onto my next chapter..

Season 8 - Feyenoord 🇳🇱

Feyenoord finished a poor 4th last season in the Eredivisie but their manager still managed to leave and go to Bayern Munich.

I applied but didn’t think I’d stand a chance but they offered me an interview then the job 3 games into the season.

Finally got a real transfer budget and an amazing youth set-up and I’m now in the 6th ranked league in the world.

Also the chance to manage Shaqueel Van Persie and Karim Konté in their prime was so appealing, they both look so good.

Also, Javier Pinto looks pretty decent as well.

I feel like this a massive step up and this job (providing I do well) will definitely set me up to manage in one of the top 5 leagues after..

u/lixmdvs88 — 11 days ago

Would this be a step back in my Journeyman save?? Opinions please..

Just finished my 7th season, going into my 8th..

1st season - Colwyn Bay 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
2nd, 3rd & 4th season - Barry Town 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
5th, 6th & 7th season - Union Saint-Gilloise 🇧🇪

I’ve won league titles and domestic trophies at both Barry and USG.

My reputation is now 3.5 stars from starting at half a star.

I want to move on but I don’t want to resign and wait for a job to become available, I want to apply for a club now during the start of summer so I can have a proper pre-season with my new club.

The club that has caught my eye is Real Oviedo 🇪🇸

They’ve just been relegated after finishing bottom of LaLiga and have now sacked their manager.

I’ve just had a took at their squad and they have 7 players that are 16 years old and worth £15m+ already, the highest value being £71m.

I’m thinking of a promotion challenge back to LaLiga with a team full of home-grown youth.

Real Oviedo class of 30’ sounds so good.

Just over 7 months since my last jab and being off Mounjaro..

Hi all,

For those interested in life after Mounjaro, please have a read.

Maintenance is absolutely possible.

Whilst being on MJ here is what I learnt..

- Whilst you’re on it, use that time wisely to learn about food, your body, dieting and habits.
- Think of MJ as a ‘tool’ and not a ‘solution’ (understand this may be different for people with underlying health issues/conditions)
- Let NSVs be your motivation.
- Don’t listen to people chatting nonsense saying ‘oh you should stop now’ ‘you’ve lost too much now’
- Don’t ever feel embarrassed about being on MJ
- Go out more and be active where you can, go to more social events, go out for a walk, walk places rather than using the car or public transport, this will build up better habits and all add up.
- Never go without, if you want a takeaway - have one but rather than a large, have a medium or small.
- You can have anything just as long as it’s in moderation.
- Give yourself a buffer, with your weight goal try and loose maybe half a stone more so when you do come off you’ve got the buffer there.
- Water is your best friend, if you’re feeling peckish or hungry have some water.
- Intermittent fasting is amazing. Never eat before 12pm and never eat after 7pm.

I’ve continued with everything I’ve learnt whilst being on MJ and since my last jab on the 1st November 2025 I’ve put on half a stone. Half a stone in 7 months, that’s 1lb a month on average. I could not be happier because with the buffer I gave myself and that little bit extra I lost before coming off MJ I am actually at my weight goal now, 7 months after coming off.

I have my pig out days, takeaways, weekends on the booze but I just know then for the next week I’ll go back to my balanced, healthy diet and it balances itself out.

Of course the ‘food noise’ is back and have been for months but I’ve just learnt to say no.

I still drink a hell of a lot of water and I also still do my intermittent fasting which I think I will do now forever.

I’m still not nearly as active as I want to be because I’m just lazy and have no motivation to get up and go for a run but hopefully in the summer that will change.

So just a positive post that life after MJ is possible and maintaining is absolutely possible.

Happy to answer any questions!!

Quite possibly having the most fun I’ve ever had on Football Manager, so glad I started my first ever Journeyman..

Currently in my 7th season overall, 3rd season with Union Saint-Gilloise.

I always use a typical 433 with a CAM and wingers but I wanted a complete change and I really wanted to try a 2 striker formation so I sold all my wingers in the summer so I couldn’t go back to what I was used to.

My word, I’m so glad I changed and tried something new. I am absolutely cooking.

Kacper Urbański, signed on a free in the summer. 9 goals and 18 assists.

Pablo Crespo, £8m from Elche in the Spanish second tier. 23 goals and 5 assists.

I still have 15 games left of the season but I want to go unbeaten and leave this beautiful club and venture off to either Spain, Italy or Germany.

I’m also so proud that out of my starting 11, 7 are regens.

As the title says, this is the most fun I’ve had in FM in years and I have a feeling this save is going to last such a long time with all the goals I want to achieve.

Derby games?

Certain cup competitions?

Finals?

Last minute winners?

Scrappy 1-0?

A 5-0 battering?

For me, I absolutely love nothing more than winning away in Europe in the UCL, UEL or UECL. I get fully immersed and think of the traveling fans and their journey. Nothing better than repaying them with a win away from home.

I genuinely thought I had it installed but I just checked my ‘simatch.fmf’ file and it’s the original FM24 file.

I think I used the Chinese/Korean ME mod when they came out way back when but obviously went back to the original ME and some point.

For those who use or have used the FM Tweak ME just a couple of questions..

Is it better?

What are the differences?

Are the differences noticeable?

Can you tell the difference between them both?

Is it worth using?

I’ll admit it, I buy players based on scout reports/attributes/star rating. (Which I’m assuming is what the majority of FM players do??)

A+ scout report??? He must be amazing.
5* potential rating?? He’s going to be the next Messi.

I’m sure this works at times as it has for me but I’m getting bored of just the same type of method to buy players every transfer window.

Has anyone else ever signed an A+ player from a scout report and they ended up being SHIT but you sign a bang average player and they perform better because I know I have.

I never check stats, I never check the players personality and I usually ignore cons such as injury prone or won’t settle into my club etc.

I’ve recently started my first ever Journeyman save and also switched up my skin and I’ve gone for an attribute-less skin (Musterman Iconic) and it’s heavily stat driven which I’m really enjoying at the moment.

So I’m going to try and use the ‘Moneyball’ method in my next transfer window and try and sign players based on stats, stats and more stats.

I want to sign the top performers and players that are playing well, potentially out performing their own CA compared to other players rather than players that just look good on paper because my scouts said so.

It’ll make my Journeyman so much more immersive I think.

Does anyone else buy players based on stats and have used the ‘Moneyball’ method before and have had success? I can imagine the feeling of buying a cheap ‘nobody’ and them performing for you being a great feeling.

Do you have any ‘must haves’ for any signed player or and deal breaks to not sign a player?

Very interested to hear how people approach scouting and signings because I need some inspiration.

I’m in my 7th season on my first ever Journeyman save, I’m currently in my 3rd season at Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium but no player will agree to a contract without a release clause. (Understandable)

Alex Singh - bought for £17m and sold for £24m

Patrick Narciso - bought for £2.8m and sold for £4.2m

Mathias Delorge - got on a free contract and sold for £33.5m

It’s going to be so hard to replace such talent but we move!

I have a question..

My board only allow me to have 30% of transfer revenue to spend on transfers. I’ve asked for a change and they keep refusing. I have £90m+ in the bank and I’m sure for a Belgian team that’s nuts.

I mean how can I sell a player for £24m and only have just over 7m to spend on an instant replacement?

Saying that I’m absolutely loving this save, my first ever Journeyman and I’m having the most fun I’ve had on FM in years.

If any of you have seen my previous 2 posts about my first ever Journeyman save then this will mean something, if you haven’t please look at my others posts and take a quick read before this.

After spending 3 seasons at Barry Town and winning everything domestically I had to leave to better myself as a manager but now my old club are coming to Belgium, to my new home!

I can't believe Barry Town won the Welsh Premier and qualified for the Europa Conference League Phase the season after I went. I must of left them in a very good state as a club which makes me happy and proud.

Stories like this is why we all love and play Football
Manager right?
