Almost 5 weeks post ltkr- post surgical check tomorrow- disappointed in my progress- wondering what others are doing outside of PT that are helping with pain and flexion? 9/1/26- so at about 5 weeks)

Hi all I appreciate everything. I’ve learned on here in speaking with others and reading. I feel like I’m progressing a little more slowly I did hit 110° flexion at the end of last week but I’m getting a lot of medial knee pain and tightness that’s limiting the flexion and then the day after PT I’ve been having a lot more swelling and my gait is off - causing hip pain and additional pain in my “good” knee- also a lot of fatigue and throbbing by the end of the day even though I’m limiting steps the most I’ve done is 1.4 miles total yesterday and I’m paying for it today😫-I had to go off of meloxicam because it was giving me really bad heartburn. I’m wondering if anybody knows if Celebrex or anything else is helpful for inflammation and what exercises at home have been useful?

The nerve block honeymoon is over

Hey, all second post today. My left knee total knee replacement was yesterday slept OK last night. Pain has been progressively getting worse today and I can’t get comfortable wondering what the best position for sleep is should I try to elevate it? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I finally broke down and took some stronger medication to see if that will help.

Surgery yesterday very little pain, but as the take progresses, I can’t lift my quad

Hi, just checking to see if this is normal. I was able to get in and out of bed no problem. I am now pretty much unable to lift my left quad. I’m wondering if this is normal maybe a nerve block wore off and if anyone has suggestions I do have my first virtual PT session this afternoon so hopefully I’ll get some more information.

Looking for advice from the community- upcoming surgery 9/1

Hi all- apologies if some of my questions have been asked ad nauseum- I am nervous about upcoming left knee total knee replacement- I have some issues with my spine and my other knee- I am getting a gel injection on my “good knee” this week and am considering prehab to focus on strengthening my lumbar and thoracic spine as much as I can with PT- I am doing home exercise program- but not where I want to be. Here are my questions: 1. Recommendations for what type/best exercises to prepare. 2. What I should have in my home prior to surgery to help with healing - I am attaching a list of what my dr office recommends- but would be curious about what is/is not needed from someone who recently went through and 3. Any other recommendations for prep/post that I may not think about- thank you!

Inclusion Body Myositis related conditions question

Good evening, I have been undergoing testing for sometime and I’ve got a very strong positive for an anti body. That’s specific to inclusion body myositis, but can also be positive. With other MYOSITIS, as well as a couple of other diseases, and I still need further testing, but I do seem to have several of the symptoms. When I research treatments. There seem to be very limited. I’m wondering if anyone has any experience if they can .2 websites that outline treatments, Support groups, experimental trials. I’m not ready to accept that that there is no treatment at this point.
