Is it worth even trying?

Sorry this might not be the best place to post this.

I am 90% certain I have ADHD but have been hesitant to get tested because I had worries about being medicated. Well things are getting harder to manage and my work and relationships are struggling because of it. I decided it was time to admit it’s a bigger issue than I have made it out to be and get some help.

I found this sub while researching medications and possible side effects. I obviously had no idea this was happening. Now I’m worried that starting isn’t even worth it. I’m already stressed and anxious about everything as it is. I don’t want to start a medication that isn’t going to help and make things worse.

Are the side effects worth it? Does it help it all?

How do you guys deal with the general negativity towards men in media and your social life?

Normally I brush it off, but recently it seems to be more overwhelming. I’m seeing more comments and posts talking about how all men are awful and are below women. In places that I’m not used to seeing stuff like that. I hear my wife’s friends going from light hearted jokes about how men suck to more and more negative comments.

The obvious answer is to remove yourself from it, but you can’t just stuck in your head in a hole and never interact with anyone or consume any media or internet.
