Do monsters get an additional action on crits?

Title. Do monsters follow the same rules as heroes when it comes to getting additional actions if they crit on a power roll?

Difficulty Advice: Why Are My PCs Getting Hammered?

I've been running the Delian Tomb with my regular group and I have noticed that my PCs are coming perilously close to death a lot more often than they did in 5e. I've had to pull my punches a bit and refrain from using Malice in several battles to avoid the players from being steamrolled and even so we've had one PC death.

My questions for the Hive Mind are:

  • Have you encountered this problem? If so, what did you do to fix it?
  • Are there commonly overlooked rules or mechanics that make combat more dangerous than it is designed to be if missed?
  • Do we just suck at this game?

One easy fix is just have the enemies deal a little less damage, but I'm curious if there's something more fundamental that I'm overlooking.

For background, the party consists of a Shadow, Fire Elementalist, Troubadour, Bear Fury, Talent, and a Conduit (though on any particular session, 1-3 of these PCs might be missing for scheduling reasons).

EDIT: Common suggestions:

  • Make sure you're scaling your combats for player count (which I was doing but still a good thing to remember)
  • Encourage the party to heal more often in combat, especially with their maneuvers
  • Give them a retainer that can heal (i.e. let them spend recoveries without using their action)
  • Audit their sheets to make sure they aren't overlooking abilities
  • Make sure they remember Hero Tokens are a thing
  • Git Gud
