G'day all. Back in the old days (late 90s), well before Reddit or social media existed (except maybe MySpace) I used to be a frequent the Pearl Jam newsgroup / Usenet group alt.music.pearl-jam. I remember even having an amp-j t-shirt at one stage that someone on the newsgroup organised printing and ordering for. We used to do heaps of bootleg trading, cassette b&ps etc and discuss all sorts of PJ related and random stuff. There was quite a large group of users who got to know each other pretty well. I remember Laurie Hester, for example, plus a number of others. There was a regular user names "Oceans" from memory. "Longroad" was a fellow Australian. PearlGTR, Jett Karma, Dirk Diggler and heaps of others. Anyhow, good memories.

Back in the day there used to be a fan-run website that contained all of the concert setlists including sound checks (we used to get excited when a random song popped up in a soundcheck) along with reviews of each concert etc. It obviously doesn't exist any more. Does anyone happen to remember the name name/URL of the site? It would be cool to use the way back machine to have another look through it. I half think it might have been "the sky I scrape" or maybe "present tense" but perhaps I'm thinking of a different site.

Also does anyone know if all the content, reviews etc from the site I'm talking about ended up somewhere else? The Red Mosquito app seems to have some similar reviews, so I'm wondering if it all eneded up there?

Anyone remember anything about it? Cheers.

Has anyone installed the 17.11 beta update? Any feedback on performance? According to the change log it potentially fixes a solar charging bug which doesn't affect me since I have an Instinct 2.

Is it safe to assume that this update will be rolled out OTA if the beta is successful?

I was talking with a teacher at my school yesterday. Experienced teacher, mid 30s, really good teacher. This teacher has a tertiary qualification in another profession. They've decided to pull the pin on teaching at the end of the year and move back to their original profession. It's a huge loss for our school, but you can't blame them at all.

We got talking about how actually teaching has moved so far down the priority list of work these days for a teacher. We spend so much time doing everything but actually teaching and doing a good job of preparing for teaching. We spend so much time on things that don't directly help our teaching, it's ridiculous.

Then this video can't up in my feed today and even though it's in the UK contact, it's pretty bang on. Just makes me wonder where all this lands and what the Australian education system will look like in 5 or 10 years time.

Rick Shiels did a video on a £200 launch monitor recently (Shot Scope LM1) that he found to be quite accurate, apart from when he had the wrong club selected. Punters Golf in Australia have a similar one for $399AUD, which I assume is essentially drop shipped from Alibaba.

For someone who just wants a super cheap and basic way to get some numbers from their hitting net or on the range, which ones perform best?
