Tapering offfff

I’ve only been taking gabapentin for a few months at 300 mg three times a day (900 mg total).
I decided I wanted to taper off, and I’m currently on day 3. My plan has been to take 300 mg in the morning, 300 mg later in the day, and reduce my third dose to approximately 150 mg, bringing my daily total to around 750 mg.
I’ve been opening the 300 mg capsule and eyeballing half the powder, which I know isn’t the most accurate method.
The problem is that I’m already feeling withdrawal symptoms, and I’m honestly surprised because I haven’t even been taking it that long like less than 6 months and haven’t reduced my dose by that much.
I’m wondering:
Has anyone experienced withdrawal after only a few months of gabapentin?
Is dropping from 900 mg to 750 mg too much at once?
How long did you stay at each reduced dose before lowering it again?
Did your withdrawal symptoms eventually settle while holding at the same dose?
What tapering schedule worked for you?
I really want to get off this medication, but I also don’t want to make myself miserable in the process. I’d appreciate hearing other people’s experiences!

Weight

Will taking gabapentin 600-900mg about four times a month? (PRN anxiety attack dose) cause the weight gain you all talk about? I know sounds likely no but I will probably be taking it this way every single month for a high stress situation I have weekly

fell 7 days post op

Hi, I’m about 1 week postpartum from a repeat C-section. I hadn’t had any vaginal bleeding for about 24 hours, but tonight I slipped on one of my daughter’s toys and my right leg slid out pretty far while the other stayed back. Right after that I felt a gush of blood come out vaginally onto my pad. I also noticed blood in the toilet when I urinated, though it was definitely vaginal bleeding and not from my urine.
Since then my incision area feels more sore/irritated, though not severe pain. I’m not soaking pads rapidly, but the sudden return of bleeding after almost no bleeding for 24 hours scared me. Is this something that sounds within normal postpartum bleeding fluctuations after strain/movement, or should I be evaluated?

pain control and fear

hi there. is this normal? my obgyn sent me home from the hospital with only 15 pills of the lowest dose of oxycodone. i already went through all of them and its only been 5 days since discharge from hospital / 7 days post op. but i was told i could take them every 4 hours. not sure what to do as im in pain but afraid to ask for more of the pills even though he told me i could reach out for more….. how many did you get sent home with? 😭 i just want to take care of my babies and house without major pain lol.

i have my second c section coming up soon and i’m honestly anxious about pain control afterward.
with my first c section, i actually did okay in the hospital because they gave me oxycodone as needed along with tylenol and ibuprofen. but once i got discharged, they only sent me home with like 5 oxy and maybe 10 gabapentin. after a couple days, i was struggling BAD. the tylenol/ibuprofen combo honestly did not touch the pain for me. i had help at home and still felt like i was suffering.
i completely understand doctors being cautious about addiction and overprescribing, especially with opioids. i genuinely get it. but i also feel like there has to be some middle ground after major abdominal surgery. i’m not asking to be snowed or take them forever, i just remember being shocked by how much pain i was in once the hospital meds stopped.
the problem is i’m terrible at advocating for myself and i don’t know how to bring this up to my ob without sounding drug-seeking. i’ve heard of other women getting sent home with more medication or at least having a better pain management plan.
has anyone successfully had this conversation with their ob? how did you phrase it? did anyone’s doctor adjust the plan for a second c section after a rough recovery the first time? also curious about what other ppl got sent home with for pain lol
