Rothfuss Tourism near Point?

Because I need to think about SOMETHING other than the primary election this week ....

I'm a Patrick Rothfuss fan in Madison, and have the urge to plan a daytrip up to Stevens Point as a Rothfuss pilgrimage. It might be more of a excuse to get out of town and visit some new-to-me bookstores while the weather's nice than anything else, but I figured I'd consult some local experts about things I should do / see / while I'm in the area. Anywhere I should eat, local delicacies I should pick up and bring home, random insurance office that I should take a photo of and claim it's Pat's cousin's brother's piano teacher's house?

Or should I really just fuck right off?

Are you a Wizard, a Witch or a Wild One?

One of the recent Kickstarter videos asked that question, and of course we're being asked to "sort" ourselves based on our purchases as well, and it's just got me thinking.

I bought an Apprentice Wild One pledge kit, though mostly because my favorite color is green, and so that's the slip case I'd most like to see on my shelf; I admire Eursulon's paladin-nature and quest for honor, but I don't know that I'm that single-minded ever. I probably most truly am close to Suvi and the Wizard as an archetype, as I've grown up as a member of a fairly privileged society (middle class white American) and spent a good part of my life unaware of that privilege and the evils it enabled. At this point in my life, I feel myself much more drawn toward the aesthetic of Witchdom and Grandmother Wren's cottage, with its clutter and animism and concern for the collective; I want a patchwork jacket with a million pockets that have useful oddities in them.

How about you?

The Wizard See!

Apparently, the birth was an unlocked stretch goal on the Kickstarter…?

ETA: I can't find definitive confirmation of this -- I reposted from a CR forum, and don't know where the original pic comes from. Can anyone actually confirm as true?

Is chicory blooming months early this year?

I was driving south of Madison (Stoughton/Belleville/New Glarus) this morning and could swear I saw blue chicory blooming in the roadsides. I normally think of that as something I don't notice until around August 1st. Am I misidentifying the blue flower that's out right now?

If you've missed the 5 minute animated short named The Legend of Legendarius (under the ToonOut series label), fix that! It's a frequent rewatch for me. I won't spoil the identification of familiar voices. I adore it and want MANY MORE EPISODES even though I don't know that will ever happen. sigh.

Just had to beat the drum for one of my favorites.
