Mercedes GLC EV EU sales just had a seriously impressive month

Europe just hit a record 30% BEV market share in August, with fully electric sales up 51% YoY.

Mercedes has another strong result with the Mercedes CLA EV (10th place with 5,398 registrations), and the new Mercedes GLC EV entering at a surprising 12th position thanks to a record 5,326 registrations. That's almost matching both the Tesla Model 3 and Mercedes CLA EV for the month.

If Mercedes can maintain anything close to this level as availability improves, the GLC sales could begin to challenge the iX3.

Brand New Mercedes GLC EV crashed leaving the dealership 😭

Article translation:

Engelskirchen - In the afternoon, a serious driving error occurred at a car dealership in the village of Hardt - a 65-year-old man and his 63-year-old female passenger had to go to the hospital.

A 65-year-old man from Lippstadt will likely not forget this maiden voyage anytime soon. Around 3:45 p.m., the driver was leaving the premises of a car dealership on Olpener Straße in Engelskirchen-Hardt in his brand-new Mercedes when, according to the fire department, he made a serious driving error. The man apparently floored the accelerator of his electric car, causing the vehicle to first hit a fence at high speed and then crash into the outer wall of a neighboring, currently vacant, house.

According to police reports, the driver and his passenger, a 63-year-old woman from Scharbeutz, sustained minor injuries in the crash. They were taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The Mercedes was a total loss. The fire department was also on the scene. Under the command of Stefan Hamacher, the 17 firefighters from the Engelskirchen fire station disconnected the Mercedes's power supply and ensured fire safety.

Travelling to Tanzania in August and would love to buy a local painting as a souvenir for the trip? My budget range is $200-$400.

Is there an art market or collection of shops on Zanzibar island or the mainland?
