Pelvic floor
Hi everyone, FTM, 26 weeks pregnant. Over the past few years, I’ve mostly focused on strength training. Not that I’m strong, but at 5’5 and 130 lbs I could lunge 70 lbs/deadlift 100 lbs/bench 80 lbs, hip thrust 130lb. I also did 20 min HIIT 1-2x/week and occasionally Norwegian 4x4. What I realized before pregnancy was that my lower core was not as strong as the rest of my body.
Now I’m trying to do simple clamshells, light lunges, and glute kickbacks on my knees with no weight and I feel pain in what I think is probably my pelvic floor (in areas where I never felt pain before pregnancy). Has anyone experienced something similar? What did you do?
I can work through the pain, but intuitively it doesn’t feel right. I can still do other exercises, but whenever I isolate one leg, I start feeling it. It’s pretty annoying because these are such light exercises and they’re causing pain…
