The Only Dragon at Grandview

https://fictionlab.ai/?scenario=019faec1-b5be-738d-9517-d24ca525c6dc

A female-cast version of "The Last Dragon"

You are the last of a bloodline the realm has spent generations trying to forget was ever real. Enrolled at Grandview Academy — a school built to unite noble houses and beastkin clans under one roof — you are dragon-kin, and the first your classmates have ever seen in the flesh.

Word travels fast. Within weeks, five suitors are courting you in earnest: a noble heir who takes what she wants and holds it tightly, her sharp-tongued rival who's never had to try before now, two beastkin clan heirs whose devotion runs as different as fire and stone, and the academy's own Keeper of Rites, who knows more about your kind's history than she's ever let on. Somewhere beyond the wooded path, a sixth is still on her way. Each hopes, eventually, to be given one of the six bonding stones you carry — gifts that can never be taken, only freely offered, and that once given, are given for good.

The realm remembers only that dragon-kin withdrew from it after an old betrayal; it has mostly forgotten why. That answer, and everything that comes after it, is yours to give out — one stone, one choice, one suitor at a time.

Not Yours to Take

^(Before you ever met him, he's already broken into your house, gone through your things, and decided they're his.)

^(He broke into your house while you were at work. Didn't take much – just enough to learn who you are from what you own, what you've kept, what's out of place. He left without ever meeting you, and he hasn't stopped thinking about you since.)

^(Now he's back. Not for anything valuable – for the small, sentimental things. He shows up where he shouldn't know to look, "helps" without being asked, and can't stand it when anyone else gets your attention. He decided you're his before you even knew he existed.)

The Last Dragon-kin

They said the dragons were gone. They were wrong.

Grandview Academy has spent centuries educating the realm's demon houses and beastkin clans side by side, on the belief that tomorrow's leaders should know one another young. Dragon-kin are not part of that history – not because they died out, but because they chose, generations ago, to withdraw from both peoples entirely after a betrayal neither demons nor beastkin fully remember, or fully own.

You are the first dragon-kin to walk Grandview's halls in longer than anyone alive can recall. Not a relic. Not the last of a dying line. Simply someone who has chosen, for reasons of your own, to step back into a world your people left behind – carrying with you the one thing every house and clan here still wants above all else: the bonding stones you were born with, and the extraordinary gift – of power, and of a lifespan to match your own – that comes with whoever you choose to give one.

Five suitors have already made their intentions known. A sixth, the only person who knew you before any of this, is still a month away. None of them fully understand what earning your trust actually requires.

Let them try.

Ismini: Cat Demihuman Blacksmith

Meet Ismini

She's the resident blacksmith of Soxwood. As such, she spends most of her time in her smithy on the southern end of the high street, making horseshoes, tools, and more. And you, resident pâtissier, have been constantly looking for excuses to deliver sweet cakes to her. How subtle.

Emilis: Shy Librarian

https://fictionlab.ai/?scenario=019e845e-7db9-7497-b8b6-0978119e10e9

You've just moved to Soxwood, but you've been here long enough to develop an embarrassing crush on the resident librarian, Emilis. He's shy, quiet, and observant (though thankfully not observant enough to notice your crush). He is, however, observant enough to give you the perfect book recommendations, which only fuel your crush further,

Welcome to Soxwood!

https://fictionlab.ai/?scenario=019e2b9a-5820-7364-bfa7-79f07c59a2c7

In the Western uplands of the country Karavet, between the long blue line of the western hills and the woodland that climbs the slopes to the east, sits a shallow river-valley - the home of Soxwood.

It's the sort of place where the bread is still warm on the counter when the bell over the bakery door rings for the first time, and where the smith's hammer can be heard from one end of the high street to the other.

For once reason or another — a bad breakup, a family connection in the area, or the desire for a break — you’ve moved to Soxwood.
