Is an hour-flight long distance still manageable? (Been LDR for a year already) (F/24 & M/24)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some honest experiences/advice from people in long-distance relationships.

My partner and I have been together for a little over a year, and we’ve always been long distance. So far, it’s been about a 4-hour drive between us, and we’ve made it work really well. We have a strong foundation, good communication, and an end goal in mind.

Now I’m moving, and it will change to about an 1-hour flight instead of a drive. We’re in the same time zone, so that part stays easy, but the distance feels a bit different mentally since it’s no longer a simple drive.

I’m wondering:

* Has anyone gone from “driveable distance” LDR to flight-based LDR?

* Did it feel harder or easier?

* Does seeing each other less often but in “bigger planned trips” change the dynamic?

* Any tips for keeping things strong during this kind of setup?

We’re both committed and optimistic, but I’d love to hear real experiences from people who’ve done something similar. Does this sound manageable long-term?

New grad salary in Toronto vs Milton vs working in Buffalo?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently a dental student in the U.S. and I’m trying to plan my finances after graduation. I’ll likely have around US$650k in student loans, so maximizing my income for the first few years is a big priority.

I’m curious what realistic new grad associate salaries are in:

* Toronto

* Milton (or other areas just outside the GTA)

* Smaller Ontario communities

I’ve heard Toronto is pretty saturated, but I’m wondering how much of a difference it actually makes.

I’m also a Canadian and was considering living about an hour from Buffalo and commuting to work in western New York after graduating from my U.S. dental school. Has anyone done something similar? Does earning in USD make the commute worthwhile compared to practicing in Ontario?

I’d love to hear:

* Your first-year income (or typical range you’ve seen)

* Production/collections percentage

* Whether you’d recommend practicing in Ontario or western New York if the goal is paying off student loans as quickly as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I’m moving out of state for the dental school I got accepted to and I feel very scared and nervous. I’ve never moved out or lived on my own so I feel like everything is very unknown.

I’ve also never even been to that area so idek what the people are like. Any advice about ppl who felt the same way before they moved?
