Warning This Post Contains Sensitive Relationship Content

A guy says he had been abroad for work for almost two years and recently came back to Nairobi. He reunited with his girlfriend and when they got intimate he noticed during kissing that her breath smelled strongly of cigarettes. During and after sex he also noticed a very strong unpleasant odor.

He later realized she had been drinking heavily smoking cigarettes and bang which shocked him because she never used to live like that before he left. Now he suspects there may have been other things going on too including possibly sleeping around though he has no proof.

He says the whole experience completely changed how he sees her and he’s confused whether he’s overthinking or if these are genuine red flags.

He is worried what could be the cause of that unpleasant odor juu the whole room was a mess.

What advice would you give him?

He reached out. Advice.

This guy shared his situation with me, and I’d like to hear what others think.

He was working abroad while his girlfriend stayed in Kenya, raising their daughter. He supported her fully by paying rent, covering expenses and making sure the family was okay. When he came back, he found out she had cheated with another man in the same house he was paying for. The truth came out from their five‑year‑old child.

Because he loved his family, he forgave her. Still, things weren’t the same. He left the country again and she eventually found a job. But his involvement in family matters was never as deep as before because the disloyalty had changed things.

Later, they tried to resolve their issues and live together again. When he returned the second time, he discovered she had been seriously dating another man, only blocking him when she knew her partner was about to come back.

The lady is now crying wants him not to leave.

He is torn between wanting to keep the family together and struggling with broken trust. What advice would you give someone in this situation? Is forgiveness enough, or is it time to walk away?

At what point do you help out of love and at what point do you realize the relationship is becoming financially one-sided?

This happens a lot—traffic comes in, but leads don’t. Often the issue is trust, clarity or poor calls-to-action. What's the right approach this problem?
