I recently received my appointment date for the Residence Permit (Student) at the Austrian Embassy in New Delhi, and I’m trying to get a realistic idea of the current processing times.

I’m planning to study in Linz, so it would be especially helpful to hear from students whose applications are being processed there.

For those who have already gone through the process, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience.

Specifically:

/*When did you receive your Visa D after the RP approval?

I know the official processing time can be up to 90 days, but I’d love to know how long it actually took for you.

Hello everyone,

My name is Sharon, and I’m from India.
I have been admitted to the Master’s programme in Artificial Intelligence at Johannes Kepler University (JKU) in Linz, starting in March 2027. I plan to arrive in Austria around January or February 2027 so I can settle in before my studies begin.

I’m currently looking for accommodation and would really appreciate any advice or leads.

I’m interested in:

* A furnished or semi-furnished studio/apartment

* A room in a shared apartment (WG)

* Accommodation in Linz or nearby areas such as Leonding, Traun, Steyregg, Gallneukirchen, Pasching, or other places with good public transport to JKU.

* My budget is approximately €200–€350 per month, depending on what’s included.

I’ve already been searching on Willhaben, WG-Gesucht, LAWOG, GWG, and other housing websites, but I know many rooms are shared through personal contacts before they’re advertised publicly.

If anyone knows of an upcoming vacancy or has suggestions for other places to search, I would be very grateful.
