Our night sky check in from Laurel Mountain, 56 miles from downtown. Hope yinz are finding some way to stay cool in the city.
Some of those blips are fireflies near branches. We mulch over the winter so we have a ton of them.
(3 second iPhone exposure, a little more brilliant than naked eye view.)
Been too long: chicken thali platter and spicy pork momo. Technically it’s Subba Asian Restaurant because he makes other types of food but I’ve never gotten anything but the Nepalese stuff. Do go.
I snapped this at the end of a GAP solo ride on 5/30/26. I don’t know the person fishing. Maybe he sees it.
Rural Pennsylvania
Monthly check-in from Ligonier Township, 55 miles from Pittsburgh. It’s a really clear and dark sky and my trees are filling in past the down the road neighbor’s floodlight. (3 second exposure on iPhone. )
From the top deck of the Fort Duquesne Bridge at 8:08 PM.
Shot from a bicycle on the Fort Duquesne Bridge upper deck, 28 May, 2026, 8:08 p.m.
Thought I would share, this was from 5/1/2022.
Howdy from Laurel Mtn @4am with my night sky check in. That second one is facing South over the roof with the stovepipe profile. Hope you guys are ready for the heatwave. Remember this is just 55 miles from the city and full of state parks with camping options.
Over the recent years some snapshots of the city at night or twilight.
Found in Millvale, left where it is. Godspeed lil fella.
Saw these pictures in frames at a collector’s house. He let me take photos of them but not outside of the glass, so excuse the glare.
Note the high water mark written onto the Stanley Theatre photo.
