Just set up a Conferfly Meeting Room and need advice

Went REALLY smoothly. Only two parts I could use some advice on are...

- I have two big displays. Any thoughts on how to make this work? Two windows? Mirroring?

- Any thoughts on how to make this REALLY foolproof so that people don't break it?

New Induction Support

For folks taking part conducting Section and Lodge Induction Experiences...if you need help with logistics, general advice, documents, who to contact for things, schedules, or anything else, come by the OA Discord.

https://discord.gg/Jj8NBJ6aV

There is a 2026 Induction Experience channel. This is both for people who are curious, but may include spoilers. It has a lot of logistics and coordination information. There are several Peer Induction Coaches lurking in the channel who can provide additional help, if needed.

This is a mutual assistance channel, so please come in the spirit of Scouting.

Looking for advise on teaching AI merit badge at camp

I've been asked to teach an AI merit badge class at camp. The challenges seem to be:

- Its five 1.5 hour sessions with up to 8 Scouts, and there is NO WAY that the MB takes that long.

- Scoutly is not usable.

- I will have Internet access but the campers may not. Some will be going home at night and others are staying at Camp. How the heck do I make THAT work?

So, what material should I add - not to add requirements, but to fill the time and teach Scouts who are clearly interested, more about the topic.

Stuff I was thinking about...

- Content on data centers (what are they, how they work)

- Content on various chips - what's a GPU vs a TPU, waferscale, how to cool them. What's the difference between a GPU in a video game vs an AI/ML machine vs cryptomining.

- More on applications across wider areas (construction has cool applications)

- More on ethics (although this is covered reasonably well, I like a lot of real world examples)

- More in-depth prompt engineering

- Sandboxing - risk levels in using AI in sandboxes (like a Chrome chat) vs desktop app vs plug-ins in applications vs mobile.

- More on Superintelligent AI - AGI vs narrow superintelligence. vs true ASI

- Impact on careers

- Discussion on how do you think High School and College will change with more use of AI (I expect this to be a VERY in-depth conversation and I think I will learn a lot)

- For requirement 7 - maybe have them design "cyberchip" type safety classes for different groups - Cubs, Webelos, Scouts, Older Youth, and then present their training with other participants role playing.

- Patch design contest using AI

- What FUN stuff can we do?

Disclaimer: I'm not looking for anyone's opinion on AI and I do understand some folks here really don't like it. Message received. This is a post looking for help not a lecture on how immoral I am for agreeing to do this.

Venturing Shorts for Summer Camp Staff

My son is returning to summer camp as staff again this year, and as usual, we are buying many pairs of shorts, as he has grown. None of his old stuff fits.

Last year, most were Scout green shorts. But he's exclusively a Venturer now, and wants grey shorts. He's not even taking his Scout Class A shirt, only his Venturing Class A.

Does anyone have suggestions for inexpensive but comfortable grey shorts for camp use? Bonus points if he can wear them to school in the fall.
