I live in Korea

Hi. Looking for any insight on this. My backup (which I suggested to my mom to do) is to have her just cancel the transaction.

So my birthday is Monday and my mom wanted to send me money as a gift. Last year she did the same thing. I live in Korea which means the venmo app doesn't exist. In addition, I don't have the same US number and venmo doesn't allow international numbers (at least not korean numbers). but it was the only way my mom had access to sending me money and she was stressed about emergencies and such. I have an email connected to the venmo account.

But since the app doesn't exist in korea, I've always had to access venmo through the web. It worked last year on the same browser and device. But for some reason this year, it didn't recognize my device ? and you know how most apps send you a code? well it wants to send it to my phone number and there's no option to send to email or to verify a different way.

So then I call the phone number cuz i know you can send your documents and verify and stuff. But no one answers and it's this dumb ai robot and won't connect me to an operator and my specific question and request isn't on the ai's list.

So then I go to the ai chat thing on the website and to the help center online/contact us page. There's no actual way to contact them. it just says common questions and answers. and the ai chat and everything else says i can verify and contact more specifically through the app "help me" part or whatever it's called. But you can see my dilemma right? I don't have the app and can't get the app and even if I could, I can't sign into the app!!!

So now I'm turning to Reddit cuz google is no help and the venmo website isn't any help either.
