Finger lakes suggestions for the chronically ill

Hello!

I’m taking my sister to the finger lakes this weekend and planned to stop at Watkins Glenn and Ithaca. Do you guys have any low energy suggestions? She is currently in heart failure and waiting on a transplant so I want us to be able to do fun things/see some cool falls but reserve her energy. We are going on a 5 day road trip and plan to see many things so id like to keep our activities accessible/low key. It looks like Watkins Glenn could be pretty strenuous. Does anyone have any tips see a pretty spot on the trail without us having to take the whole thing up? Is this worth trying? Is there somewhere else you can recommend. She’s had a really hard year and I really want this trip to impact her positively. Seeing the beauty of nature and having some fun will be good for her but I’d like to be prepared. Please let me know and thank you in advance. :)

ESY SLPs

Hello any ESY SLPs can you help me out. I am scheduled at a different school on the county every day of the week each School is hosting a summer camp with the YMCA program in the county the last two days at each school the program has taken the summer camp kids on a field trip no one informed me about it prior so I couldn’t change my schedule to see the kids or swap days. I don’t know what to do in terms of the kids missing the sessions. Should I just document that they were unavailable due to the field trip or should I attempt to ask the parents if they would like to bring them in another time, I know this is unlikely because they are in summer camp. This county that I’m currently working in is really crazy about makeup minutes, although I know that they are BS I have gotten really anxious because of the way the county talks about it. I feel much more responsible than I ever have in the past. Part of me just wants to document it and move on if I have time next week then I can double up the sessions but other than that, I would like to just leave it alone in document. What are your thoughts?

ESY No shows

This is my first year doing ESY and I’ve only had around 10 out of 30 kids times confirmed by their parents. This is my first week and I have only seen five kids total in the last two days. Is this typical? I have contacted the Parents twice now. my supervisor told me to let her know when I’ve given them two notices so she can send out a letter. I’m just wondering is it typical for most of the caseload to just not show up? I am scheduled to work 28 hours a week which feels like a lot because I came in at like 10 today and I’m already done by noon because most of my parents haven’t confirmed their times. I’m definitely not mad about it. I’m just a little bit anxious that I need to be doing more to try to get them to show up is this typical?
