My favorite liminal space

The beach at night, when the flashing lights of the Boardwalk fall weakly on the sand below and the fog above and happy screams echo off the cliffs, is a sanctuary on the edges of furious human commotion and the ferocious darkness of the sea, a narrow space of soft, subdued existence, loosely defined.

Group of teens and/or young adults on East Cliff shouting the N-word around 9:25 pm

I didn't get a good look at them--it was dark and there were some other people out, but there were 5-15 of them. I know I heard male voices but not sure about female. I live near the bridge to the Boardwalk, so I'm used to people yelling. It's usually people having fun, so at first I thought little of it. Bu then I realized what they were shouting. I think they were initially yelling at someone but then a car drove off and the yelling became chanting. I'm 90% sure they went down the foot bridge. I really don't like calling the police, but I did.

Non-biased report of candidates' stances/track records?

Does anyone know of a website that shows candidates for state and/or local offices along with their stances and/or voting records in an easy-to-read format? I'm looking at CalMatters right now, and it only has a paragraph for each and dozens of videos of interviews with candidates. I'm looking for something I can read that's unbiased and at least moderately succinct.

Looking for 1 ticket to Bobby McFerrin at the Kuumbwa in Santa Cruz, May 17

I’ve always been musical, but for most of my life, I’ve been poor. Long before I could afford musical instruments, Bobby McFerrin showed me that anyone with a mouth could make music. I’ve manage to accumulate a few guitars, harmonicas, hand drums, etc, over the years, but I still make mouth music as much as anything else.

I posted this earlier in my local Santa Cruz sub and got scammed out of $50. My first internet scam! So exciting! So now I'm asking, does anyone have a ticket they’d be willing to part with AND would be willing to meet in person? I'm in Santa Cruz, but could meet in Capitola, Aptos, etc. if necessary.

It would mean a lot to me. Bobby McFerrin is one of my heroes and a huge influence on my music.

Does anyone have an extra ticket for Bobby McFerrin at the Kuumbwa? Round 2

I posted earlier about this and immediately got 3 people wanting me to send them money over Zelle or Chime or whatever. I knew better, but I want to go to the show so much that I took a chance with one and of course it was a scam. Luckily, it was only $50 (not that I can afford to give away money, being on disability, but I'm glad it wasn't more). I've filed a scam report with Chime and reported them to Reddit, for whatever good that'll do. Anyway, it's my first internet scam, and I've now learned through experience the lesson I previously only knew intellectually.

So, I'm now asking, does anyone have a ticket they don't need AND would be willing to meet in person? I'm in Santa Cruz, but could meet in Capitola, Aptos, etc. if necessary.

It would mean a lot to me. Bobby McFerrin is one of my heroes and he's been a big influence on my music.

Does anyone have an extra ticket to Bobby McFerrin at Kuumbwa?

Bobby McFerrin is playing at Kuumbwa this Sunday, May 17th. He inspired me to make music before I could afford instruments by demonstrating that anyone with a mouth can make music. I have guitars, harmonicas, ukes, and so forth now, but still, much of my music consists of mouth noises and instrument imitation. He's a big hero of mine, and I'd love to get to experience his art in person.

Obviously, I'm willing to pay for the ticket. If you have one you're willing to part with, please let me know.

I'm looking at a 2016 Camry with 78,000 miles, a clean record, one driver, no accidents, personal use (not lease, rental, or fleet). Carfax indicates regular maintenance. I had it inspected and it looks great. They want $25,000 (that's with a 4 year warranty and all fees included). Carvana is the seller.

A new Camry in my area would cost approximately $35,000-$38,000.

I'm on a fixed income (SSI) that just pays my rent, and I have about $50,000 in the bank that has been covering other expenses. I know at some point I'll have to figure out how to start bringing in some additional money, but I'd rather that time come later than sooner.

My question is simply, given my situation, which is the better choice? I hate to spend $10,000-$13,000 more on a new Camry, but it also seems like $25,000 for a ten-year-old Camry might be a rip off in comparison. Oh, and I've looked at all the local used car dealerships and Carmax, and they were all more expensive than Carvana.
