Joined Sharda uni BTech CSE, any advice, seniors?

I recently shared my Top 10 on a global subreddit(as many people did on that subreddit) and was shocked by the sheer amount of gatekeeping and elitism. Apparently, if your list contains masterpieces like One Piece, Monster or Vinland Saga or FMAB or AOT, you’re labeled 'generic' or 'mid.' It seems some fans have turned a hobby into an Olympic sport, where you only get 'respect' if you’ve watched 500+ shows, half of which are obscure trash nobody cares about. I watch anime for the storytelling, and fun and sometimes good animation-not to build a resume of 'underrated gems' just to look cool to strangers online. These 'mainstream' shows are legendary for a reason. And even if someone doesn't find them good enough or just 'overrated' they can just scroll instead of being toxic. We need to stop shaming fans for liking the GOATs. A 'personal gem' is a story that moves you, regardless of whether 10 people or 10 million people have seen it. Let’s stop the brain-dead elitism and go back to actually enjoying great fiction.
