How to Bivouac camp with afternoon storms in Pyrenees GR10/11?

I’m doing a portion of GR10 and then crossing over from Garavrnie to Torla via Bujaruelo to the GR11. I’m hiking twelve days on a cheap budget so hoping to camp for free along the route majority of the time. I’m wondering, with the afternoon storms that I’ve read are unpredictable and can go into the evening, how do people respect the 7pm set up time for bivouac camping? Do people hang out in refuges until then? What about setting up camp in a storm? My original hope was to start early and hike, wait out the afternoon storms, keep hiking, set up camp. Also I will be going in the second half of July.

Finding housing for September 1st?

I’m coming back from a trip abroad around August 22nd and then going straight into my grad program. I’m worried about finding housing for late August or early September (I can stay with a friend until Sept 1). I’m interested in living in a warehouse, co-living type place, or just snatching up a nice under $1300 room with a window. I’m worried though that by Sept 1 all the good rentals will have already been sold in August. I really don’t want to pay for three weeks that I’m not even living at the place (seriously, I don’t have a lot of money) but should I just suck it up and rent a place for August 1?

Frances or Portuguese + Primitivo?

I have EXACTLY 30 days to do a camino. I’m most interested in doing the Portuguese camino and then the primitivo afterwards, however this will be more expensive. Financially it might be better to do the Frances but I’m a nature freak and I feel really unexcited by the landscape/beauty/nature of the trail. I also worry about my strict 30 days — what if I get injured, what if I meet people I want to stick around with but they’re slow, will I enjoy the walk if i’m always rushing and not able to enjoy the towns, etc. It will also be very hot in July and the other trails seem cooler

What do we think?
