Ordering espresso at a US restaurant
What’s the best way to order a single espresso at a restaurant in the US? Nine times out of ten, they pull it way too long, filling the cup nearly to the top so it ends up tasting like a mini Americano rather than a proper espresso. I’m starting to think I should just stick to making espresso at home, but has anyone found a good way to order it so you actually get a short, properly pulled shot without annoying the waitstaff or appearing fussy?
