If you plant a fall/winter food garden, when do you start your seeds?

Too early and I’ve got seedlings dying in my house. Too late and I’ll be trying to protect my plants from heat — and the March heatwave this year really messed with what I thought Spring would be like. I tried planting lettuce indoors and it was already too hot to get beyond seedlings stage.

How do you plan your garden?

Can I make this without the hood?

My mistake was that I thought the alternate views were hoodless options, turns out it’s length! I have never seen a coat pattern where the hood was part of the body, instead of a piece you add on after the main coat body is already seen, like a collar.

My question, do you think I can change the main piece, piece #1, in such a way that I can leave off the hood?

Ugh, I feel a muslin/toile is in my future!

The Station Tree, Natick, MA

This beautiful white oak was used as part of The Livermore Survey in 1749. Today it stands at the boundary of Natick and Weston, MA. She’s estimated to be around 500 years old. She’s down the street from a house built in 1728 and I just love that I was able to give her a hug!
