____ didn’t do press after the finale

Jonathan didn’t do any press after the finale according to RHAP. He just took some photos and left refusing to do any interviews on the red carpet.

He did look gutted as the votes were announced. Preparing for it mentally all year but when the moment comes it’s hard not to get emotional. I don’t blame him for not doing press. It sucks having to relive those moments in front of all those people.

I’ve been listening to a ton of Survivor podcasts this season, and one thing keeps coming up that honestly feels pretty messed up.

Domenick Abbate on Sharon Tharp’s podcast mentioned he got cut at the very last minute after being told he was basically a lock for Season 50. That alone is rough, but it’s not just him. A lot of former players have shared the exact same story.

They were told they were 100% on. Not “you have a good shot” but straight up confirmed. Then they get cut right before the cast is announced.

Reiman Bledsoe even said he originally didn’t want anything to do with the show again, but production convinced him by promising he’d be on, only for him to get cut. That apparently led to him starting his “healing from Survivor” trip and documentary.

Tyson has mentioned on his podcast a few times about how production may have promised 50+ people (maybe even more) that they’d be on the season. That’s kind of wild.

I get that casting is complicated and things change, but telling people they’re definitely on and then cutting them last second feels unnecessary and cruel. Especially when this means so much to so many.

What makes it worse is that a lot of players probably aren’t speaking up because they still hope to play again someday.

Curious what everyone thinks. Is this just how casting works behind the scenes, or did production go too far here?
