What would have happened to Kass in a Cagayan FTC?

Rewatching one of my all time favorite seasons Cagayan, and I think we know now that there was quite a disconnect between how Kass thought she was doing versus how she was really perceived by her cast mates.

But going back to where everyone was THEN, not what we’ve all learned since, had she made it to F2 in any combination, how was the jury going to greet her?
Obviously she had her big enemies like Morgan and Trish, but was there anyone who would have possibly thrown a vote her way? Was the presumptive argument she made to her husband “if I was a man and played my game, you’d all respect it” (paraphrasing here) ever going to land with anyone on that jury?

I genuinely don’t know the answer here, which is why I am asking.

Could Julia have won Kaôh Rōng?

For obvious reasons, when we talk about who could/should have won Kaôh Rōng, the first name everyone throws out is Aubry’s. The second one who comes to mind is Cydney. Based on the edit we were shown, it really felt like that firemaking challenge was deciding which of the two was going to win. They both played damn-near winning games, but I think Julia is a little overlooked. Aubry was well aware of the threat that Julia posed, because I think she had a shot at winning if Tai was a little better at the game. Tai’s game in Kaôh Rōng was filled with an obscene amount of flipping. Julia was riding the middle between the powerhouse dickhead alliance of Tai, Scot, and Jason and the girls’ alliance of Joe, Aubry, Cydney, Debbie, and Michele. I think if after the Debbie vote, Tai didn’t flip to the girls’ alliance (which WAS a bad move by Tai), then Aubry would have gone out at 8 with the super idol gone. In the F7, Julia could have flipped, voting out (in my opinion) Tai. With the F6 or Scot, Joe, Michele, Jason, Cydney, and Julia, Julia could convince Michele, Joe, and Cydney to get rid of Scot. In F5, you try to get Michele and Jason to take a shot at Cydney. If you get to that 4, I think it’ll be easy to vote out anyone of her choosing (ideally Michele but I doubt she’d do that), and go to the end with a winnable 3. I know this is a lot of “IF,” but I’m talking about someone who went home at 7 if things went differently at 8. What do yall think?

Best 2nd Place Player?

So I feel like the all time best Runner Ups are Boston Rob,Aubry,Dominick,Parvati,Russell and Ozzy……. But the all time best Runner up is Definitely Mr.Domenick Abbate from Ghost Island! This Man and Wendell ran that season like nobody took a big shot on trying to get Dom out. For the first time in Survivor History Wendell and Dom had tied for the most Jurors Votes to Win survivor but Dom lost because Laurel(made ftc but became a jury member) gave Wendell the vote to win Ghost Island. Dom literally lost by that 1 vote. Nobody can’t say he didn’t play a S+ tier game, probably one of the best 1 time survivor player in history.

Do yall agree Dom is the best Runner up? If not who do y’all consider the best runner up?

Survivor themed first birthday

Out cry. Out play. Out nap.

What are some of the iconic moments or locations that you would include for decor for a birthday party? For instance, I’ve been making each guest their own torch and cutting out tons of tropical leaves…

What are the favorite/most notorious games that could be recreated at home for both/either adults and small children?

The men tribe in season 6 are insufferable

I’m only one episode in on season 6 and holy shit these dudes are insufferable on how they view/talk about the women and how highly they view themselves. It legit felt like I was watching a bunch of 14 year old boys hitting puberty for the first time playing boys vs girls soccer at gym class lol. And then at tribal council they spend almost half the time just talking about who they think is hot from the women tribe…. Like bruh wtf am I watching lol

I’m a guy and I’m no feminist or nothing like that but hearing other guys talk so poorly about women and highly about themselves simply because of their gender is pathetic ngl. I only watched this season because I wanted to see what made Rob an all star since they talked pretty highly of him that season but he’s annoying af too so far lol.

Survivor Parodies being more popular with the youth

so recently I made a survivor stop motion parody and included many references from the main show. However my main audience is kids and young teens and a lot of them thought it was a parody of Total Drama Island or Battle for Dream Island. both of which are takes on the survivor format. So it’s just interesting that the format of survivor has spread more beyond then just other versions. To the point where the shows concept is associated with completely other series.

How would Cambodia have changed if Spencer had chosen Wentworth’s side over Jeremy’s at the final 7?

I was rewatching Abi’s final 7 blindside and I realised this really was the big turning point where Jeremy, Tasha, Spencer and Kimmi (until she failed to flip in an attempt to get a solid 3) were solidified as an actual alliance.

But if Spencer had voted out Tasha instead (I don’t remember why they targeted her over Jeremy, but from what I remember by the time of the final 8 there were like 4 different targets)

If Tasha had went home, and now with Jeremy and Kimmi on the bottom how does the rest of the game play out? Jeremy and Wentworth both have idols, and Kimmi still doesn’t want to go to the end with Jeremy, so how messy would the end game have been and would Wentworth have become the next biggest threat to win now that she has the majority over Jeremy?

Hypothetical Survivor 50 ReCast

I’m a little drunk after celebrating the 4th for lunch and have an hour before a BBQ later so me and my buddy ended up randomly talking about survivor and built out a 50 cast we would’ve liked better that’s still realistic, with the exception of Taj but I think we could’ve gotten her if the right calls were made

Women
Jenna Lewis (S1, S8)
Jerri Manthey (S2, S8, S20)
Cirie Fields (S12, S16, S20, S34)
Amanda Kimmel (S15, S16, S20)
Taj Johnson-George (S18)
Abi-Maria Gomes (S25, S31)
Kelley Wentworth (S29, S31, S38)
Cydney Gillon (S32)
Chrissy Hofbeck (S35)
Angelina Keeley (S37)
Carolyn Wiger (S44)
Genevieve Mushaluk (S47)

Men
Colby Donaldson (S2, S8, S20)
Lex van den Berghe (S3, S8)
Rob Cesternino (S6, S8)
Shane Powers (S12)
Ozzy Lusth (S13, S16, S23, S34)
Malcolm Freberg (S25, S26, S34)
Spencer Bledsoe (S28, S31)
Reed Kelly (S29)
Domenick Abbate (S36)
Christian Hubicki (S37)
Jesse Lopez (S43)
Q Burdette (S46)

Howd we do? Try to represent every era equal, have different types of players and only bring back players who still have something left to prove while keeping the balance of different archetypes spread around.

What moment on Survivor made you the Survivor fan you are today?

Now for years maybe since 2000 I had seen some reality TV shows but never could sit through an entire episode. So I would just flip through channels. And it took all the way until I was flipping through channels one day and I saw tribal council. I mean the set was decorated so Erie. Like some out of a Sci-fi movie. So I tuned in and it was Final tribal council season 46. When I saw someone win 1 million bucks . I had to go back to episode 1 of that season and see how they did it . But that was the moment I got hooked. How about you do you remember what about the show sold you on this whole concept of Survivor?

Best moves that didn't make the show?

One that comes to mind for me is Todd telling Denise early on that at the final 4, no matter who won immunity, they would tie the vote and allow whoever wasn’t immune to make fire. He said Courtney would get taken regardless.

The reason I like this move so much is because he didn't approach her with the best deal in the world. If he told her she was guaranteed a spot in the top 3 and he would take her regardless, it would sound too good to be true and therefore not be believable. Coming up with a lie that isn't ideal but is still good enough to accept is a great way to convince people you are telling the truth.

Do you think Survivor should do a trivia challenge, that is similar to the ones on The Challenge, for a future reward or immunity challenge???

I honestly would love to see it especially with the potential of seeing some hilariously dumb answers

Blood vs. Water in the open era

What do we think the odds of seeing Blood vs. Water return in the open era are?

I’m such a big fan of the format. It introduces such complex and compelling new layers to strategy and we saw it produce two very different results both times, with singles dominating BvW and more than one pair going deep in SJDS. I’m certain there’s even more dynamic outcomes that can come to the surface if we ever see it again.

It always struck me as odd that production loved the format enough to essentially immediately bring it back, only to never do it again after that. I know there’s been speculation that the SJDS cast broke the format by trying to game the Final 3 and select specific representatives from the dominant pairs to make it to the end, but that outcome didn’t play out in practice. Even if it did, surely production can find wats to prevent or disincentivise that moving forward.

I think the format has so much left to offer and I’m really keen to see it again, so I’m hopeful the open era gives it an opportunity to return.

Something borrowed, something old that’s new

Watching old seasons of Survivor and found from S7 (Pearl Islands) two “twists” to be especially fun for the game. Bringing either or both would be great. First, castaways thought they were going to a photo shoot but instead the game started early and they were only allowed tbe clothes on their backs. Sooo fun! Has this been done since? If not, would be great to do it again because for the most part, people would be unprepared and it might be fun not to see all the wardrobe changes we’ve been getting lately (soooo many on S49 and 50).

Second, bringing back the contestants voted out for a second chance. This has such appeal in that people are so discarded before the jury starts filling and that’s some serious redemption some cast out castaways can get and it really throws a fun curve ball into the game.

Thoughts?

one world: first time watch through

hard to watch colton and alicia be so blatantly rude to christina for no reason at all

how was this received when the show was originally airing? I genuinely feel so uncomfortable watching them just tear into christina for just being on the wrong side of the vote wtf man

On Mergatory

I know we talk about "earning the merge" as a particularly annoying thing about the new era, but it isn't even new. I'm rewatching Thailand right now, and they gave them a feast, made them go to one beach, and gave a note that implied they were playing for individual immunity. And it wasn't!

I hate the non-merge merge, but they've been doing this for so long and I think people forget that.
