The way Jeff introduces rewards

The way 2-3 minutes are wasted every other show listening to Jeff describe spaghetti with garlic bread and tiramisu and red wine is just not very interesting.

I find the mediocrity of the rewards I'm comparison to how more thoughtful they used to be simply cannot be masked by his game-show-host-infomercial description.

If I could change something for seasons 50-60, that would be top of mind. Make the rewards more about a local activity than boring food. And cut the "mouth watering" gimmicky description !

Anyone get random character glitches in some landmarks today?

I was sending my aunt screenshots of my game... Random characters missing eyes, pupils, or legs! Anyone else notice this? She thinks its my wi-fi but when I upgrade the landmark the characters look normal again, so I don't think that's it!

How extensive do we think the underground network actually is?

So far we've gotten hints that Mechanical/the mines are much less supervised than the rest of the Silo, with black-market activity and some kind of secret network involving the Blacksmith foreman (guy in wheelchair) and Head of the mines (father of Glenda)

But I’m curious about the scale of it. If they’ve managed to hide that much stolen supplies, off-course digging, and activity for 2+ years, how extensive can this network actually be?

Are we talking about a small group of rebels, or could there be a whole hidden cave-like community down there? I'm picturing an Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves type of society with Knox's dad as some form of leader. I'd imagine they are outcasts who have lost all interest in abiding to Silo Law and have cut ties to their "Silo" status/involvement and only go in to steal supplies.

I’m curious what everyone thinks the physical scope and population of this underground world might be. Do they live in an air pocket/cave and do they dig all day, trying to reach a Silo we haven't heard of yet? (1? 10? 14?) What is guiding them to dig in that particular direction? If they think the outside is dangerous, what's the long term plan?

Is Lukas not involved with them? It sounds like Lukas was working on a "secret digging project" in the mines for the past 3 months. Would this not have led to Knox's father + gang to notice him ? Or vice versa? Or are the mines so vast that two unofficial projects could be occurring full-time simultaneously down there without detection from the other. I get the feeling the Head of the Mines would be aware of the Knox's Dad/Theft of supplies project but possibly he desnt control the mines as well as he thinks and Lukas somehow flew under his radar? Seems the Head of Mines would have eyes everywhere though.

Lastly, do all the workers in the mines know about it, or do they just work with their heads down, exhausted, and are unaware.

"The Voice" losing authority in S3?

Considering how oppressive and disciplinary the Silo was (IT + The Mayor + The Police force + Judiciary) in seasons 1 and 2....How is it that now, Juliet is allowed to be mayor (with the dangerous plan of "let's just drug her")....and now that that backfired, she is a) not being drugged again and b) allowed to roam freely, get strange demands granted by the voice while maintaining arguably the 2nd most powerful role in the Silo, despite no longuer being drugged.

Obviously this is Juliet's story and I, as an audience member, want her to succeed, but in terms of writing, I find this difficult to comprehend. What calculations has the Silo made to determine that allowing Juliet, a clear rebel, to be lucid and be mayor and openly oppose Camille, will not backfire?

It seems in Seasons 1 and 2, she would be sent to those infirmary locations and forever drugged because she "knows too much" like that old woman, or killed, like the previous judge.

This is a Silo that destroyed Juliet's childhood home because her mother had a magnifying glass. This is a Silo that gagged and bagged government workers who saw the fake "green imagery" that displays within the helmets for the cleaning. This is a Silo that, 3 years ago, condemned Lucas to 10 years in the mines for failing to report a "red level relic" that he saw.

I know there has been an uprising since, but can someone explain the strange lack of order in the Silo, and why the voice seems to be slacking in terms of giving terrifyingly opressive orders? How has Camille and the Voice failed to strip Billings of his Sheriff's badge at allowed him for 3 months to conduct whatever independent investigations he wants, without reporting to head of the Silo or even going up to his office? Why, in such an unstable crisis, has a new, stern, present, sheriff not been appointed? This leaves Camille especially weakened and without a stern right arm.

Also: how is it that the Voice has no clue about the critical supplies being so low? 🤔 Wouldn't this be part of its job/in its best interest to prevent?

Also: how is it that after 3 months, with 10 000 people needing to cross it, the staircase seems to not have been fixed by an inch?

Anyone else kinda mad that Bernard...

Anyone else kinda mad that Bernard sent citizens to torture/death/the mines for carrying relics, yet he himself carried one in his pocket every day?

Also Judge Meadows with her banned books, 90s games, etc. placed like decorations so openly and shamelessly in her apartment....

"Do as I say, and not as I do" or "The rules apply to all aside from those who enforce them" make me furious with rage. It's such a lack of transparency/hypocritical leadership!

Podcasts about the art of negotiation?

I've been a freelancer for 12 years, and my empathy still tends to make me cave and give clients a deal that is favorable to them (and not to me) when they push hard and are persistent/persuasive/good negotiators.

Also, on zoom calls, I sometimes waste 30-40 mins getting the scope of the project from the client before bringing up budget and have had my time wasted because they end up not expecting the price to be what I tell them: how to cut to the chase?

Any podcast recommendations on this subject would be helpful .

Idea for a fun random feature.

I was thinking it would be cool if every day at 11:11 or something, a trickster-type character, maybe the Road Runner in this album, or Peeves or the Weasly Twins in the HP album, or like the Hamburgler, the Mad Hatter, you get what I mean, would run across the board for 60 seconds and then we would all try to get screenshots of him whenever it happens and see what antics they were up to. The character would have different behaviours. That's it. That's the idea.

Pods about negotiating/ bad deals/ entrepreneurship?

I want to preface with: I'm a woman and an artist and not into pressing people like lemons to squeeze out the most possible juice from them in business. I hate Jeff Bezos/ Tony Robbins type "Charge 1 million for your services!" coaching. I like Madeline Pendleton.

I want to learn about how to negotiate better, how to be firmer with my pricing! The ideal podcast for me would be one where I can listen to people who talk about their worst and best deals in their career. Just basically hearing people's wisdom, the mentality needed to negotiate better, life lessons, based on their lives as entrepreneurs. (I'm left leaning politically.)

Thanks!°°

Why do I end of caving when persistent men push too hard and how do I stop?

I (32W) am happily married, and a freelancer. I've noticed a pattern throughout my life that I can't quite understand and want to fix.

As a videographer, I know what my services are worth...But sometimes a male client will negotiate very aggressively, asking for discounts at every stage... Even when I know I don't want to accept their price, sometimes I eventually give in. After a while I become exhausted by the back and forth and start thinking, "Is it really worth fighting over $100?" and I just want to protect my peace and move on.

I remember this happening as a kid too. I'd play sports with boys, and some of them cared so intensely about winning that they became unpleasant losers and if they got angry or frustrated, I'd just let them score. I wanted to play and have fun, but I didn't want to deal with their intensity or their reaction or fits.

I've also experienced this pattern in past sexual experiences. Some partners kept pushing after I'd already said no, including around things like using condoms or doing things I wasn't comfortable with or wanting to continue when I'm too tired. Eventually, the exhaustion of continuing to resist and not being respected became overwhelming, and I gave in. Looking back, I see that as part of the same problem in me: I don't want this thing to happen, I love myself, but this man is so insistent that I just stop defending myself because it'll be the fastest way to get peace, even if the cost is a piece of my dignity, it will end the argument/confrontation which is causing me stress.

I wonder if some of this comes from being socialized as a woman to keep the peace, avoid conflict, and be the "reasonable" one. I've done a lot of healing, and this doesn't show up in my marriage because my partner thinks consent is sexy, but I notice it resurfacing in business situations and I feel like I deserve more and need to learn to defend myself!

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a psychological term for this? How did you learn to stand your ground when someone else's intensity makes you want to give up?

What Other Shows would you recommended to a Silo fan?

I deeply enjoy this show, especially for the world building... I like dystopia, sci-fi, social dramas.....I was a fan of books 1984 and Ready Player Go, and of the film "The Island", when it came out. I also love how this series is in many ways comparable to Plato's Alegory of the cave.

Thank you for any recs!

Question about the s3 trailer

So, I was wondering if Silos like Silo 39 on the far left were even more majorly screwed: They seem like they can't even connect directly to the main channel of tunnels without first getting through one or two silos. Does it really matter, in the end? I guess anyone who gets into a tunnel possibly activates THE SAFEGUARD, so in the end that may not make a difference...I'm essentially just wondering if,.according to this map, all.Silos were created equal, or do some have tiny aspects of them that give them less of a chance to uncover the "true origin story" that I imagine has to do with these tunnels...?

How did the relics get into the silos?

If the silos were built sealed tight, then surely the relics are left over from the first generation of occupants who came in as adults from the outside world and were initially allowed to keep keepsakes in their lodgings? Or are they just things that were smuggled out of the vault?

From a sociology point of view, it would be deeply interesting to know what types of items lead to rebellion vs not. An etchersketch vs a national park magazine . A pez dispenser vs The Wizard of Oz....

"You earned $00.004 ?"

I just completed the Snow White level on Disney Solitaire which took me at least 6 hours total. I spun the wheel for "up to $69" for this task and earned

.

..... $00.004 CAD

.... not even half of one penny.

What a ridiculous amount! One penny would be ridiculous....but the audacity to even make me spin a wheel for this non-prize is beyond insulting. It didnt even change my total earnings amount because its not even a full penny.

Podcasts about unique stories?

I am in a podcast drought.

I have listened to every episode of :

This is Actually Happening

The Secret Room

What it was like

What was that like

Against the odds

The Crux: True Survival Stories

Lives Less Ordinary

Rewind: The Lost Boy

......................

Basically, I love hearing about unique life experiences and people surmounting very strange situations I likely will never experience myself. (Fame, being a refugee, surviving in the jungle, etc.)

Can anyone recommend something ? Thanks.

How do I stop caring about the team that cut me? It's ruining my confidence.

I'm looking for advice from anyone who's been through something similar.

I played in an adult rec league with the same team for about a year and a half before they decided to cut me. They've cut other players pretty abruptly last year too, which seemed harsh to me because this is just a rec league. My attitude has always been that if people show up on time, encourage, are good people, and do their best, I'm glad to grow together as a team.

I joined a new team and was starting to enjoy soccer again, but now my old team plays in the same league. Since there are only a few teams in the league, I see them every game night—we either play before them, after them, or against them.

For the last three games, as soon as I notice them watching, everything changes. Before I see them, I'm playing confidently and instinctively. After I notice them, I start thinking they're judging every mistake. I get tense, overthink every touch, and my performance and enjoyment drop.

They'd often stay out drinking together after games, while I'd usually have one beer and head home. I don't know if that had anything to do with why they cut me, but it sometimes makes me wonder if I never really fit in.

The frustrating part is that all I wanted was respect, acceptance, or even just an honest explanation. But I've realized I'll probably never get that. I just want to stop giving them so much power over my headspace so I can enjoy playing again. I feel them watching me when they probably don't care about me.

Has anyone experienced something similar? What actually helped you move on mentally? I know they'll never ask me back, and even if they did, I'd say no. So how do I become genuinely free of this and enjoy playing even when they're around?

Dr Death season 5 (New Season!)

I have listened to the first 2 episodes and was wondering why I cannot seem to find much on this "John Schnider" online? I'm appalled at the botched surgeries he did and am intrigued if any of the x-rays from his bad work are visible online. I just can't get over the amount of pain these people had to endure because of this awful monster.

Billie's half @$$ed involvement with Survivor made me like her a little less.

I love her music and have seen her in concert. I love when she takes action to help the climate/diminish animal cruelty.

But somehow, while watching s50 of Survivor, the most important season of the show, it just seemed kind of weird that she agreed to the involvement in a season that meant so much to the fans AND players....only to then laugh it off in an interview and roll her eyes and seem completely above it and disinterested. I just found this to diminish my view of her and think she would have been much better off saying "no" if she wasn't interested in this.

Thoughts?

Don't go too late in the day to Marino Ballena National Park if you want sand to lay on!

We arrived in Uvita around 11am and went to the beach as soon as we could, walking 30 minutes toward it and arriving roughly at noon. We walked another 20 minutes on the sand, appreciating the natural location. By this point, the tide was already rising. I planned to do my favourite thing which is swim/read/swim/read, I can do this all day ! Unfortunately, the tide rose so dramatically that by 2pm there was no more beach: the tide rises up to the treeline, which is very dense and damp and filled with black dead palm fronts, crabs, lizards, rotting coconuts, so you don't really feel like laying in there and reading. I completely understand that this is part of being in a protected natural park :it’s beautiful and wild for that reason. But I think it’s worth knowing in advance if you’re planning to spend several hours there. If your goal is to relax on the beach, swim, or read, going earlier in the morning and checking the tide beforehand makes a big difference.

Grade 2 sprain taking forever to feel normal

I sprained my ankle for the first time in my life playing soccer 50 days ago and I spent the first 4 weeks resting it,.not.realising I needed to do exercices. I then bought a Wobble Board, which helped. I finaly bit the bullet and paid for physio, where I got mild accupuncture and exercises to do at home. The ecercises feel a bit strange (I don't sense it to be helping but I may be impatient!) I don't feel improvement. Its been 10 days since the physio and I've been hiking (on my honeymoon) with good hiking (ankle supporting) boots. Every other hike my ankle turns on a rock or something and burns for 60-90 seconds, but then the pain disapears and I seem fine. The ankle feels "loose" or less reliable than my normal ankle.

This is frustriatingly long! Any advice? Do I need to just keep doing the exercises rigurously and is this normal healing time? The progress seems incredibly slow.
