Nothing beats the nostalgia of old-school Survivor. The 39-day format made the game so much more compelling.

The feelings I get from rewatching old school seasons truly does not compare to any other reality tv show. The shift from a 39 day game to a 26 day game is so stark, that last stretch of survivor truly used to be my favorite. The friendships and gameplay felt so real and visceral it’s hard to describe it. The new era survivor genuinely feels summer camp corporate coded for older adults and does not hit the same. A jarring change that would never happen on big brother, the same location in Fiji and the short time frame we currently have gets to a point.

If Micronesia had ended with a F3 as planned, where would you rank this final three among all finalists in Survivor history?

How to Negotiate Salary if offer is not what I expected?

Recently was offered a role at a firm but the final salary amount they gave me was 64k. The anticipated salary range posted was 63,000-$93,000. They did not meet my offer and gave me essentially the minimum amount posted in that salary range. In my first interview they asked what my salary expectations were and I said more than 70k. They reached out to me a couple days ago and said they would not be able to budge due to internal equity and other internal matters. I do have the necessary experience to succeed in that role . I am not sure what to do given their first response, since I expected they would meet somewhere in the middle. Am I able to still negotiate after that? Any advice would be appreciated on how to move forward. They said they really want me to join the firm but the salary they offered was well below what I initially requested.

Would you consider Cirie one of the top 20 greatest Survivor players of all time despite never winning?

I have Cirie around the top 15, more so top 10 when taking into account all her performances, particularly in Micronesia, Season 50, and Panama; but I'm curious whether others rank her differently when evaluating her entire Survivor career. Her performances on Micronesia and Season 50 in particular really show her strategic/social prowess as a player and her innate talent. I know people rank her lower due to her physical abilities and having never won but what’s your take on where Cirie would rank against all survivor players.

Panama - Fire making loss, solid performance as a newbie and excellent moves(Survived First Vote, 3-2-1 vote, control of casaya tribe) - clear win against Danielle in the f4

Micronesia - Dominant performance, iconic moves(Erik Immunity Plan, multiple blindsides pre merge and post merge, control alongside Parvati within the most iconic alliance on survivor). Solid win equity but f2 twist in the endgame. One of the best non winning games in the history of the show, a top 5 winning game.

Heroes vs Villains - idoled out despite being in the majority in the heroes tribe by one of the most dominant winners of all time(Tom Westman)

Game Changers - 0 vote elimination, f6 exit

Season 50 F6 - Another dominant performance with great moves/solid control but split tribal affects her endgame path after ozzy’s unceremonious exit and tiff as her only close ally left.

Despite never winning, I consider her at the very least a top 20 player. I know some people will say she’s not better than people who have won(all 50 winners- result oriented) but in my opinion she’s for sure better than multiple winners. Her consistent deep runs, multiple times being close to winning and at times being screwed due to game mechanics/twists, and her genius strategic abilities/social game puts her in that category for me. I consider the Erik Immunity Necklace Plan and 3-2-1 vote some of the best strategic moves in the history of this show so I personally can’t really put her below the top 20. Open to any counter arguments!

Fun Fact: In an alternate universe, both Cirie Fields and Ozzy Lusth are likely the winners of Survivor: Micronesia and Survivor: Cook Islands without the unexpected Final 2 and Final 3 twists

Ozzy probably wins the final immunity challenge, votes out Yul at the Final 3, and beats Becky Lee in a landslide vote.

Cirie Fields likely beats Parvati and Amanda in a 3-2-2 vote, securing votes from Alexis, Erik, and Eliza. She also probably delivers a dominant FTC performance against both of them. Amanda usually struggles at FTC and Parvati would struggle against Cirie on certain questions and securing enough votes.

If Cirie and Ozzy had been on Survivor: Winners at War, it’s interesting to imagine how they would’ve matched up against that cast. I love Yul and Parvati both legends but just an interesting thought experiment without those twists in the endgame.

MAJOR SCENE cut during finale at F5 Tribal, argument between _____ and _____

An argument between Tiffany and Jonathan was cut during last night’s episode where he stated the reason why he targeted Tiffany was because she was a GIRL and it’s different. Horrible jury management from Jonathan if the allegations are true. This allegedly happened when Tiffany asked Jonathan why she’s targeting her instead of Joe at tribal council. That is one of the reasons why Tiffany seemed upset at tribal at the boys and wanted to leave. A very misogynistic statement and does add up based on the claims made by some women on S42 about his behavior, and speaks to another reason why the majority of the jury didn’t vote for him to win. His jury management and social game absolutely hurt his game and ability to win.

A moment of appreciation for Cirie Fields’ final appearance on Survivor. She holds the global record for most “in game days” played in Survivor History.

Survivor: Panama — 4th place, 36 days (fire-making loss)

Survivor: Micronesia — 3rd place (F2 twist), 38 days

Survivor: Heroes vs Villains — 17th place, 11 days (idoled out by Tom Westman)

Survivor: Game Changers — 6th place, 36 days (0 votes - Advantagegeddon)

Survivor 50 — 6th place, 23 days (4–2 vote; first time voted out by majority)

Survivor: Australia vs The World — 4th place, 15 days (fire-making loss)

Total in-game days played: 159 days(Global Record), 144 days(U.S Survivor Record)

She holds the record for most in-game days played cumulatively in Survivor history. (This Excludes Edge of Extinction days in rankings where Parvati holds the record based on WAW at 165 days). Based on in game days played cumulatively, she has been actively in the game longer than any player(U.S, Australia, South Africa).

Cirie Fields is genuinely one of the most dominant social players reality TV has ever produced and one of the defining architects of Survivor. Her ability to control votes, read her opponents, and navigate the game time and time again never ceases to amaze me. She redefined how the game can be played without advantages or physical dominance, leaving behind one of the strongest legacies despite never winning. It’s been a pleasure watching her over the years, and seeing her once again dominate the game in what appears to be her final Survivor appearance.

Cirie is the first contestant to successfully save themselves from elimination after using the Extra Vote.

Cirie saved her extra vote advantage from Ozzy given to her early on in the season and played it on Day 21. Cirie is the first contestant to save themselves from elimination, in past seasons extra votes were solely successfully played as a defensive/offensive mechanism. She used the Extra Vote to vote for Emily twice, forcing a tie(2-2-2 split) to ensure her safety no matter what given Deven’s idol during the split tribal twist. Cirie used her extra vote again to ensure Emily's elimination on the revote tiebreaker. A really impressive play from Cirie, while also getting Jonathan and Tiffany on her side and somehow not being voted out unanimously by the tribe despite her threat level. She sensed Emily and Devens’s shiftiness and played her advantage at the perfect time in order to make it to the top 7.

In this split tribal, her closest ally is Tiffany. Jonathan is also voting in that tribal, and he can easily take out Cirie despite their conversations back at camp. This ensures she is safe in all fronts: Devens playing his idol for himself, Devens playing his idol for Emily, Emily and Devens voting for cirie together after they split the vote, or in case Jonathan throws an extra vote on Cirie. It was a gamble that worked in her favor this late into the game, and could possible help in future rounds since Ozzy told the rest of the group about her secret advantage that is no longer in play.
