Putting my 2027 focus st back together and doing the timing when I ran into a problem. I can’t figure out how to reset the timing chain tensioner. Any help or advice would be GREALY appreciated!

Took apart my 2017 focus st because I was burning coolant and had “determined” it was a head gasket. I have a brand new head and gaskets and the whole belt and timing assembly’s. The problem is after taking the old head off and inspecting it, the gasket, and the block, I am unable to see any clear problem and I am uneasy to install the brand new head before I know what exactly went wrong. Here are pictures of the head, block, and gasket surfaces. Any help in finding what is wrong would be GREATLY appreciated !
