Trying out the Lochby Mini Pocket Journal

I bought the Lochby Mini Pocket Journal ($39.99) with the A7 journal a few days ago. This is how it looks with a few cards and the A7 journal in, as well as how it looks in the back pocket.

I already own a few leather covers/jackets for A6 notebooks but I couldn't fit them in my back pocket comfortably so I decided to give Lochby a try, even at the expense of having a smaller notebook. I will see how it goes.

As for the Lochby itself, it feels quite sturdy but it'll take more time to see how it holds up over time. My only pet peeve thus far is the zipper is hard to close after completely laying the journal flat, it kind of jams and I've to fiddle with it. I also bought a pack of the A7 journals and the paper is good. I don't like the pointy corners, I prefer them round so I'm looking for good but not too expensive A7 notebooks. I've my eyes on the MD Notebook [A7] but I'm open to suggestions.

For the pen, I'm using a Zebra F-701 0.7mm but I'm looking for a similar metal pen but with a finer tip, preferably 0.38mm; alternatively I could use different refills for the Zebra but I'm not sure if there's any for it.

How do you all carry your field notes/notebooks?

I carry mine in my backpack but after watching Dominic Hart's I kept a book in my Back Pocket for 1000 days (here’s what I learned), I'm interested to see how other people carry their field notes in their pockets. I am aware many people carry them w/o leather jacket/sheath/cover in their pockets but I'm interested to know how those who use a leather jacket/sheath/cover deal with bulkiness. What jacket/sheath/cover do they use? If you use a wallet, have you replace it with your jacket/sheath/cover?

PSA: Don't carry your tiny, almost phone-sized ereader in your pockets

I have a few ereaders so I know how fragile their screens are but I got the X4 3 days ago and the screen is broken. At work I sit down for a bit and unfortunately I had it in my back pockets so I knew it was done for when I saw that small nick towards the bottom of the device. You cannot fit a Kindle Paperwhite or a Kobo Clara in your pockets but xteink devices are so pocketable that it's hard not to try to do it... that's a big mistake though.

How repairable are these devices?
