What do you look for in a pocket note book.

So I’ve been making my own notebooks and pocket notebooks for a while now and I always have at least one person ask if I sell them. Generally the answer is no and I just gift them one. But it got me thinking, what do people look for when buying pocket notebooks? (Field note size)

Cover art?
Cover material?
Paper type (if fountain pen user are you looking for fountain pen friendly or fountain pen focused)
Lay out (dot, graph, lined, blank?)
Sewn or stapled
Others looks wants needs?
What do you generally look to spend per book ?
What would make you be willing to spend a little more?
Other considerations I’ve not thought of?

Mostly asking out of curiosity and a little to see if it’s worth it to me to possibly sell some of my surplus

America 250 Customs

Celebrate America 250 in style! I whipped up something fun to celebrate the holiday. I've got 12 left in Rhodia dot grid and 21 left in Kokuyo graph paper. I put my new Dahle paper cutter and corner rounder to use this week haha.

$10 shipped for a single (via first class envelope). If you'd like more than two notebooks it's $8 flat for ground advantage for up to five notebooks. (What can fit in my nifty little shipping boxes). I'd also do a reduced notebook cost with 3 or more too.

DM me if you're interested. Paypal/Venmo FF preferred. (I've also got a few other designs available right now if you're interested.)

The Kokuyo is pretty nice for fountain pens, see example pic. Thanks and happy 4th for those of us here in the US!

Mod approved sales post. :D thanks for looking!

New Delivery

Collection is growing. Keeping these in plastic, want to hike the big three with my son when he’s older and document each adventure in the pages.

Any NYC specific Field Notes that you can only get there?

Heading to NYC for a vacation in a month and wondering if there are any special Field Notes there that are hard to get outside of the city? I got some of the Field Museum ones in Chicago and am looking for ones along those lines.

Thanks!

Pocket notebook restock!!!

These should last me about a year or so
72 pages
Field notes size to fit in my Lochby pocket journal
Pages are Pen+Gear dot grid. It does surprisingly well with medium and fine point fountain pens even showing some sheening and shading at times.
Covers are Paper Studio card stock

What should I do?

Hi, I’m very new to this I’m 24, 25 July the 5th and I just bought me a field notes notebook but I’m not really sure what to write in it. I’m not usually one that journals or write down my thoughts. So I’m curious as someone who is wanting to get into using a notebook what should I write in it first?

I have joined the field notes family! What do I do now?

I just bought my first field notes books. I haven’t written things down in a long time and I’m trying to get away from the apps. Where should I start? What should I write? Need some suggestions.

In- Explore America Continental Divide / Out- Mile Marker

Nothing on the to do list today so I'm swapping out my monthly planner early. Yay for being on vacation!

As others have noted, I wish the dot grid was either a little bit lighter or a little bit smaller for Explore America. But I love the artwork.
