Why Field Notes?

Hi all,

I've recently taken an interest in journaling, and Field Notes look like the perfect size notebook to carry around with me, however they seem very pricey for what they are. Aside from collectable limited editions, brand loyalty, nostalgia, ect, is there any practical reason I should buy the basic, brown Field Notes over the much cheaper, duplicate notebooks available in bulk on amazon? Are they archival quality, or much more durable than other notebooks?

I'll probably end up buying at least one pack to see what all the hype is about, but I'm curious why you all choose them.

Has anyone else noticed an increase in hallucinations?

Hi all,

Over the past few days I've noticed a huge increase in hallucinations with a Gemini Pro 3.1. Has anyone else noticed this?

Normally I rarely encounter them, and Gemini corrects itself quickly when it does happen, but lately it's been hallucinating and then doubling down on the hallucination when I point it out, which is really strange.

FiiO M21 cassette case sound effects?

Hi all,

I read that the cassette case is supposed to activate retro sound effects when used, but I don't hear anything? I'm listening to music through Spotify lossless and Poweramp. I also tried with the FiiO music app, but still no sound effects.

What are your opinions of the TSMR Armor?

Hi all,

So I don't have them yet, but the other day I was able to order the TSMR Armor for $225 and pulled the trigger. They've been on my radar because I heard they have very strong, punchy bass while maintaining a lot of detail and clarity, and they're in the top 5 thread, so I assumed they must be worth checking out.

However, I've seen some posts and comments about Penon's business practices that's making me second guess my purchase. I feel if a company makes a good product, it should be able to stand on it's own and they shouldn't be afraid of what reviewers are going to say about it, and that doesn't seem to the case with Penon.

So what do you all think, did I make a good decision ordering them?

Should I invest in a new DAC/DAP or upgraded IEMs?

Hi all,

I currently have repurposed a Google Pixel 6 Pro into a dedicated DAP, with an Apple USB-C headphone adapter, and I have the Aful Explorer. I have ordered the Aful Performer 5+2 and have it on the way, but am considering spending some extra money and getting the Performer 8S instead because it just went in sale and I could sell or return the 5+2 if I like the 8 better.

I'm also considering upgrading from my Pixel and Apple dongle to a DAP like the HiBy r4 or Fiio M21, or maybe getting a better USB-C DAC.

Would you all recommend I spend my extra money on an upgraded IEM, or upgrade my player set up? If I'm just listening on IEMs, will I even noticed a difference upgrading from the Pixel and Apple adapter?
