America 250 Customs
Celebrate America 250 in style! I whipped up something fun to celebrate the holiday. I've got 12 left in Rhodia dot grid and 21 left in Kokuyo graph paper. I put my new Dahle paper cutter and corner rounder to use this week haha.
$10 shipped for a single (via first class envelope). If you'd like more than two notebooks it's $8 flat for ground advantage for up to five notebooks. (What can fit in my nifty little shipping boxes). I'd also do a reduced notebook cost with 3 or more too.
DM me if you're interested. Paypal/Venmo FF preferred. (I've also got a few other designs available right now if you're interested.)
The Kokuyo is pretty nice for fountain pens, see example pic. Thanks and happy 4th for those of us here in the US!
Mod approved sales post. :D thanks for looking!
In- July / Out- June
I love my 15 month Work Station Calendar. Soo much nicer than messing with my calendar app or trying to fit a massive calendar in this little corner of my home office. Happy July y'all!
In- Explore America Continental Divide / Out- Mile Marker
Nothing on the to do list today so I'm swapping out my monthly planner early. Yay for being on vacation!
As others have noted, I wish the dot grid was either a little bit lighter or a little bit smaller for Explore America. But I love the artwork.
Registration open for Pelikan Hub in Wichita
Hello - I posted here last year when hoping to get enough people signed up for Wichita to qualify for its first Pelikan Hub … and wow, we ended up with 111 registrants!
About half of those folks showed up for the event — it was a lot of fun to meet other people into pens and inks!
Pelikan recently opened registration for the 2026 event:
Registration deadline = Aug. 7
Event date = evening of Friday, Sept. 25
Location = to be determined
Cost = free
It’s important that you register no later than Aug. 7 if you MIGHT want to attend (no financial obligation to attend). You can change your mind later and not attend, but you won’t be able to register after Aug. 7.
Here’s the link to register or find more info: https://www.pelikan-hubs.com
This is an event for everyone — fountain pen collectors or fans of other types of fine writing instruments, people into journaling, anyone curious about analog writing, creating art with pens and inks, etc.
Last year, Pelikan sent a free bottle of ink and paper for each REGISTERED attendee. They have only promised each attendee will get a gift bag this year - no details about contents of the bags🤞
Remember the deadline to register is Aug. 7 so sign up today!
If you’re interested in being the organizer (called a hub master), the deadline is July 12 to apply and the same website above provides details on what to expect.
It's been a busy Sunday...
Now I just need to staple, trim, and round those edges! I've been messing around with images I've taken, some public domain artwork, and a movie graphic I love so I had to print it for fun for a trade.
I may have to sell a few sets to offset the cost of snagging a nicer guillotine cutter and corner rounder.
All paper in these is Kokuyo, it's my favorite lately, with graph, lined, and a few dot lined.

We Need Volume 2 of the Soundtrack
I really hope Volume 2 drops someday, there are so many good tracks we don't have yet. 10/10 would purchase the soundtrack digitally and on vinyl.
Nutella Sticks...
Saw em at Costco today and had to resist.
ASE Books + Homemade Federalist Papers
I had to snag a few of these beauties off eBay a few months back. I love the format so much I decided to start making my own.
I've been working on The Federalist Papers ASE for a few weeks now. The first version was a bit wonky for formatting. I updated the file I made in Affinity and printed a new copy. I printed this version on a nicer HP Premium weight paper and it's thick. Really thick haha. I don't have a stapler that can handle this thick of a notebook/book.
Next project is a compilation of the patriotic poems of Walt Whitman. I will definitely need to figure out a binding solution and an app for imposition (I think is what I'm after) for that project.
Also, a blue 1943 Field Notes for scale. I love that edition!
Edit: My Federalist Papers are not for sale. Too much time goes into this to make it worth it haha.

My Next Armed Services Edition- Whitman
I am working on another pocket-sized book inspired by the Armed Services Editions (ASEs) printed during WWII. I love this format so much, they fit right in a back or front pocket. So much better to pull one of these out to read for a few minutes at a time instead of your phone.
Affinity is such a cool program, flowing the text from one page to all of the pages was a snap. Looking forward to printing this bad boy off. Now to figure out a heavy duty staple solution since that's how the original ASEs were bound together. Open to other ways of binding too so we'll see what I end up doing.
In- Yosemite / Out- Vintage
I love Vintage but the pages detach in my wallet notebook holder. Back to being home use for notes and little letters to send people. Graph has been my go to lately (or dot grid) for lists too. Love the feel of Vintage tho, still one of my favorites.
Making Books and Notebooks
The Federalist Papers ASE (Armed Services Edition- Homemade)
I started making my own notebooks a few months ago. I did the cover mockup back in February for fun because I absolutely love The Maltese Falcon edition that came with the Field Notes Winter subscription.
I decided to do something to celebrate America’s 250th and figured The Federalist Papers were a good place to start.
I need a heavier duty stapler for this one to get it stapled together. I’ll be hitting up the Wichita State University book lab at some point to do this.
I’m excited to see what books are released in the future! This size is perfect for taking in your pocket to have something to read that’s not on a screen or device. I love this form factor! 🙂
This project was also fun because I learned how to do a very basic book layout in Affinity. Also, my laser printer has some scaling issues, the next time I print I’ll work on finding a printer that won’t leave tons of white space so I can use a bigger font.

Eastern Airlines Custom
Someone on Facebook asked about a notebook with the old Eastern Airlines logo so I had to whip one up real quick this morning.
I love the old Eastern logo and it looks great on a notebook cover.
It was a quick mockup so I used adobe express. Affinity is great, but for quick designs this route is quicker for me.
