Odyssey 70MM IMAX and Dune Part 3 70MM IMAX excluded from Regal Unlimited

i’m sure someone has already made a post about this considering odyssey tickets have been on sale for over 4 weeks now.

i bought my tickets to The Odyssey last year when they dropped and was planning to use my unlimited to get the tickets. it didn’t work, and i thought maybe since i’m getting them so early maybe they disabled. so i said screw it and bought it. the issue is i have them for saturday. i never miss going to these big event films, especially Nolan’s opening night.

Since i don’t like to miss opening night, when the new round of ticket sales dropped, i was prepared to get my ticket for opening night with my friends with my regal unlimited. unfortunately like we already know they disabled using regal unlimited for only the 70mm IMAX showing of The Odyssey. this is so annoying because as someone who is paying damn near $30 for Regal Unlimited per month, ideally we shouldn’t even be paying the regular IMAX and RPX upcharge. But since the deal is so good i never really minded paying but now it not even being an option for The Odyssey in the format it was made for is just cruel by Regal.

I saw Oppenheimer in IMAX 70MM 7 times and i took friends and family with me EVERY SINGLE TIME. I can’t do that with the Odyssey because paying $30 that many times is ridiculous.

this is going to definitely repeat for Dune 3 as well which is sad. Does anyone know why Regal decided to pull this move? Would love to hear everyone else’s thoughts who might be on a similar boat.

Regal Avalon in GA New RPX screen?

i just opened the regal app to see if i could catch a showtime at Regal Avalon today for Minions & Monsters and to my surprise there was an RPX screen showtime available. This theatre even up until last week didn’t have an RPX screen and i also don’t recall seeing any type of renovation whenever i visit.

is this something new? this screen which is screen 12 has always had a massive screen for a standard movie screen and i always thought “wow this is arguably the biggest standard screen you can find in the area” so im suspicious now if they literally just thought of slapping “RPX” onto it since it’s such a huge screen. the description also doesn’t say “butt kicker” seats which it’s suppose to if it’s really RPX.

and i do have a complaint…the regal unlimited upcharge for RPX for this specific theatre is $9 now which is ridiculous. for that price you can literally just go to Mall of GA IMAX or for $4 go to Regal Medlock with an RPX screen which also has the actual buttkicker seats.

can someone confirm if this is an actual new renovation they’ve been working on or if it’s just the regular screen they’ve always had and they just slapped RPX onto it? if they just slapped the name RPX onto it and are up charging $9 for what is still technically a standard screen, then Regal needs to be questioned.
